Well so far in the making ive been impressed with all the coverage and the overall handling of the new franchise.

Every bus-stop has the new poster of the Phoenix, TV coverage is Oh K and what ive heard from the radio its going well.

I guess the next test is the pre-season cup and then the new A-League season. All i can say is...I cant wait.

So what im interested in knowing is how well is the Phoenix being recieved where your from? Much talk? Much publicity??? You buying any of this????

Well one of my sources have informed me that New World is a part of a Wellington Phoenix advertising campaign. Apparently they have draws full of Phoenix stickers ready to give out to customers, although I don't know when. I have a couple at home, they say: "The Phoenix has risen".

There are quite a few ads in the Dom Post as well.

This English guy in my office based in London knows all about the Phoenix and Yellow Fever.

But that is probably because he sits next to me and see's me on the website everyday. And I keep talking to him about because i have no one else too in person.....lol

If we build it, they will come...

YellowFever has even made its way onto Wikipedia.

Pathogenesis
The female Aedes aegypti mosquito on a human host, about to obtain a blood meal

Yellow fever is caused by an arbovirus of the family Flaviviridae, and is a positive single-stranded RNA virus. Human infection begins after deposition of viral particles through the skin in infected arthropod saliva. The mosquitos involved are Aedes simpsaloni, A. africanus, and A. aegypti in Africa, the Haemagogus genus in South America,[5] and the Sasbethes genera in France.

Yellow fever is frequently severe, but more moderate cases may occur as the result of previous infection by another flavivirus. After infection, the virus first replicates locally, followed by transportation to the rest of the body via the lymphatic system.[6] Following systemic lymphatic infection, the virus proceeds to establish itself throughout organ systems, including the heart, kidneys, adrenal glands, and the parenchyma of the liver; high viral loads are also present in the blood.[1] Necrotic masses (Councilman bodies) appear in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes.[6],[7]

There is a difference between disease outbreaks in rural or forest areas and in towns. Disease outbreaks in towns and non-native people are usually more serious.[citation needed]

Actually, Yellow Fever did get me into a spot of bother once.  Just got into work and was on the forum doing the usual rounds.  Work mate then spotted the big bold YELLOW FEVER banner.  Told him sheepishly "Don't worry - it's a football forum!!!!!"  I don't think he was convienced, especially as the day before I had shown him some rather 'dodgy' clips on the surprisingly unblocked pornotube.com... Dont know if your pulling our legs Stevo, but its good to hear YF has reached the likes of Asia.

No surprise relly, the asians invented YF 20years ago. Look at the logo, it says made in china.

You're doing better than Sydney is. We've had almost no promotion or marketing at all. I think the club is hoping to rely on media coverage from the marquee player search and Beckham game unfortunately.

Haven't heard much up here in Auckland. Had a couple of articles in todays herald which was pretty good though.

Hey TFC - how about you post a summary on your teams games here each week and I'll try post details on red patch each week?

Guys I've put a post on the Toronto FC supporters site inviting them to put feedback on here for us. They are in their inaugural season and their fan base is solid. In fact, there is a 2 year waitlist for season tickets.

So far I think about 6 of them have posted here. Would be great if some of us could pop over to their site to say g'day. They seem like a good bunch.

i can certainly copy and paste articles and videos. not ones that i've made myself as they wouldnt be as good.

for anybody who doesnt know who or what TFC is... watch the following if you're interested.

heres a clip of us in the bunker during our last home game. we won 4-0. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e4tLV8JsLQ

heres our first goal ever scored by Danny Dichio last May. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhXLf2zkhGA

and heres our most recent game on the road against Chicago. we had awsome away support. approx. 250 red patch boys made the long trip to Chicago for this one.

i hope this is the beginning of a long friendship between Wellington & Toronto.

well steve if your a proud american why the greek flag?? also why be proud of america if you are Greek. The usa were the no1 reason for the Cyprus conflict and final division, also many other countries division in fact too many to post.

I will also be an arsehole and bring up the fact that the usa was born through genocide and is the only country to drop an atomic bomb, twice i believe........

also i was protesting for the freedom your country's prsioner Mumia Abu Jamal. Possibly the most obvious political prisoner on the planet

i know us greeks are a little patriotic and we should be due to the 400 years of opressive ottoman empire in "turkey" the turkish flag is a joke, the burning american one is no joke though. I dislike the USA's government and their constant BS to thier own country and the world. Also this sort of image seems to piss off USA americans too, proven by your comment. I wonder how many people my ultras sig will pissoff as everyone here seems to be anti-hooliganWPFC_OR_DEATH2007-07-14 02:14:14

Sorry buds, but surely wrong topic and wrong website - regardless of your own personal political points of view - I don't think this is the appropriate place to air them, surely there are 1001 blogs, forums, wikis or whatever out there where you can discuss this to your hearts content, but please don't use a Wellington football forum to shout the odds.

Cry me a river WPFC - you know and I know that a YF forum isn't the right place to launch into a critique of US foreign policy!!!

First of all i display my greek flag because that is what runs through my viens. But because i was born in America i have a strong affiliation with it and belive that it is too a part of me.

If you think i was bitching then your mistaken. I was making a comment that had all the rights to be made. Its disrescpectfull, no matter what that countries done. Not everyone in america is evil.

The media is skewed, i agree america is f**ked but that doesnt mean you have to continue by leading by your own example. Buring flags.

Just because YOU hate somthing doesnt mean you have to freely express it for the world to know. keep it to yourself. I dont think the world cares about your dirty laundry. I mean i hate peach flavoured ice-tea, but you dont see me with a pic of it on fire do you. No i handle my rage subtly. SO relax.

Blimey, WPFC_O_D... are you actually trying to drive users away from this forum? Good job if so, because at this rate we'll have lost many users who don't have the stomach for an argument every time they want to have a casual football discussion.

A burning flag is provocative and the only reason for using it on a football forum is to get someone to bite. This is not the place for launching political protests, whether that protest justifed or not.

And I can't believe you think pro-hooliganism is a good thing. [[I wonder how many people my ultras sig will pissoff as everyone here seems to be anti-hooligan"] You've obviously never been caught up in hooliganism. (I have. I was at a game in the early 80s that exploded in to a full scale riot with battles on the pitch against mounted police - the only good thing about that development was it meant the hooligans stopped kicking the crap out of us. How no-one was killed remains a mystery.) How on earth would you think someone would not be anti-hooligan? I suspect you're once again using a personal definition of the word hooligan not shared by the rest of the English-speaking world and don't actually mean to imply indignation that anyone would be anti-hooligan. Inventing word definitions to suit yourself will not help you pass those exams!

i passed all my exams thanks graddad

i dont entend to drive people away either thats quite distructive as we need all the fans we can get-me pissing off a few people in the states wont harm us im sure, but sorry to any yankies i offended. What about the femminists offended by stevo's sig of miss korea??? jokes

yes i have been at a game where "hooliganism" took place albeit less violent than your encounter, PAO- PAOK derby cup 1/4 final second leg 1-2 agg PAO loosing, PAOK player was redcarded for taking out one of the PAO strikers, so as you do we threw coins(sharpened)at him as he walked off the field. personaly i dont see the big fuss and i have changed my sig. I did when asked by steve and feverish. The ultras comment was also a joke (like my turkic flag)by now you should all know im not 100% serious in everypost. Im not pro"hooliganism" for phoenix as it will f**k everything up.

btw PAO won the encounter 4-3WPFC_OR_DEATH2007-07-14 15:42:26
