Do you think any of the phoenix players are quality enough to crack the big leagues over in Europe? (e.g English Premiership)

Maybe not the premierleague, championship is more realistic

Glen Moss.

Three for me, and two for them.

Moss is at least twice as good as Robinson.

Moss v Carson?   No contest.

If Felipe was more consistent with his form and was able to get involved a bit more he could probly give it a crack.

great question not because of the answer - which for me is "no"

but because it's helped me see what some folks (Joses' Dog ithink and others) have been getting at with felipe - he's just not influential enough on a consistent basis to play at that top level,

don't get me wrong, i still think he's good (if not excellent) for the Phoenix - and it's bloody good to watch his skills

but i can now see the (point that's been made about) his lack of impact (apart from v sydney over there) in terms of either his ability to play the killer ball, or beat the last man to get a shot in

though he did set Lia's goal up off his chest and overall I do really hope we re-sign him for 08

edit - as folks have said maybe he'd be more influential in the hole behind two strikers

Moss said in an interview on the A-League website that he would like to play in Europe.  He has the talent plus age on his side.  The premiership might be a stretch though.

Royce Brownlie will make it.

I would be suprised if any on the roster got offered a place in the A league in GREECE, In fact even the B league.

Europe is (excuse the pun) a whole new Ball game.We must be realistic and honest with ourselves, the A-league inst that crash hot.

Personally i find it hard to watch an Aleague game after I've watched a greek league game, or an italian one.

Im not trying to say that the greek league is a good one, but any one who supports a european team religiously like i do will know what i am talking about.

Karl Dodd was playing in Scotland and only moved back for personal reasons. I think given his age and ability that he could defietely make it. Long shot at this stage but Costa Barbarouses is only 17/18 and saw some good play out of him on Saturday. He must have a chance. I think Tim Brown also given his work rate could play in Championship. Johnson is ex Championship or something isn't he?

Johnson spent 8-10 seasons at Watford including time in the Premier League and the Championship.

surely if costa was going to make it he would have been discovered by now.. look at all the young guys in the top clubs like giovanni and bojan kurkic(sp?) for barcelona. Surely those clubs have develpment programmes and stuff that pick the kids a lot younger then 18 and start develping them from there?

not to rag on the kid cause he looks a good talent you'd just have to think he was that much further behind all the kids in the top training acadamies at the good euro clubs.

But outside of 4 or 5 teams, the SPL is league two at best......

Felipe struggled to get a first-team place for Hajduk in the Croatian first division. And Hajduk have been sh*t-house for the past 2-3 seasons (not complaining though, made it easier for Dinamo to win the title ), so I think that tells a story in itself.
