Question: Elliot for Phoenix?

All, should Simon Elliot, coming off a pretty serious injury, decide to leave the premiership - will he be welcome with open arms here in Wellington?

Local boy done good, I think it would be a fantastic signing?

My only reservation is that he is likely to want to give the Premiership one last shot...

Anyone heard anything about his contract at Fulham and / or what's likely to happen next season?

It will depernd if the new manager at Fulham wants to keep him. Seeing as Sanchez is only supposed to be there for the rest of the season it won't be till the off season that we will know his future at the club.

I'd say he'd be welcome, and definatley good enough for this level. I can't see him playing much more first team at Fulham, he's prob not Premiership quality.

Whether or not he would want to sing for an A-League team is anybody's guess.

I would think he'd sign with us, but first Fulham would have to want to pay him out of 12 months of Premier League wages without any benefit for them.

Can't see Simon (or anyone) deciding to forego what must be conservatively half the entire Phoenix salary cap to come home.

How's my driving? - Whine here

remember that, when fit, simon was a first team regular at fulham.  he's quite highly rated over there.

Danny Who, Pile of Poo...

Point taken, but he got most of his stick for the, frankly, dreadful haircut, not his footballing skills - they looked to him for all their dead ball delivery - and tonnes of goals resulted...
