Money can have an amazing cooling effect
(on FIFA Committee members)
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
Air conditioned brown paper bags.

Having lived in Brisbane and travelled extensively up to Cairns on business, I can tell you that Wellington is a pretty big contrast to either place. The Brisbane guys would of been much more acclimatised to the Cairns heat and humidity purely because their home conditions are closer to Cairn's ones than ours. I remember breaking into a sweat through the heat in Brisbane at 8am while walking from the car park to the office building, bugger playing or training for football in that. Absolutely fudgeing stupid to schedule our game at that time of day.
Agree completely.
However, I would rather play in 30 tha in October in Wellington at 8.
It must be easier to wear a long sleeved top, some gloves and run around a bit to warm up in colder weather than what is possible to try and get cooler in hot conditions. Also, far less dangerous.

I never liked the cold, so I don't agree. 30 degrees is hardly dangerous. Even if they had put the game back 2 hours, the temp in Cairns now is 27 , but the humidity is up to 79, so would have made little difference.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
When I was in Russia the conductor on a train that I was on once kept yelling at me because I insisted on standing outside all the time, I much preferred the -15 degrees in the uninsulated part between the carriages than 25 degrees inside, which rendered me useless. I can't stand the heat, Wellington's summers are about perfect for me.
So it's each to their own.
I blame the AC DC concert at Westpac!
This.
Knowing that 40 year old metal heads were ruining their pitch got in their heads.
All ACDC's fault....bloody Aussies.
Vomit and Tui laden pitch next well. At least the hoof ball should hold up a bit...

Fair enough, just think it would be easier to 'rug up' if you are cold than the opposite. One difference to putting the game back is that the effects of the sun are reduced/negated, the temperature that is stated is basically the temperature in the shade.
This Phoenix side are playing the most attractive football of any NZ club side I've seen over about 35 years of following football in NZ.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching them play last night even though they lost and you can't often say that of sides.
Strung so many passes together in an effective way and were unlucky to lose.
Reminded me in terms of outcome of the 1974 World Cup Final which I saw on TV when I was nine.
Holland and the Phoenix played the more attractive football but the better side lost.
Shame you missed seeing the Hungaria team playing up a storm on the Basin in the early '70's.
"At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive...
I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...
Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."
They were good, so too were Wellington Dutch United.
