Nothing like a trip to Adelaide to bring us back to earth.

Yep.  We are going to be massively humped. I just know it.

They have a weakened defence for this match, and we have a weakened attack.

This is such a massive game for us.

We go at least 3rd if we win it.

The minimum I will be happy with is a draw.

I know there is an etiquette about wearing the same kit at the next (home) game for when the team wins at home, but I wear random YF ts when watching away games.

Am I breaking any protocol here?  If so I would like Smithy (the Woolwich twunt) to tell me where to put the YF t.

Going to be interesting with Krishna and Burns out. Hopefully A-Rod is back with a soft cast. Nice on reverse that they are missing two main defenders and their goalie. Really hoping for the best, expect the worst and will settle for the draw.

Why is nobody noticing the fact we should have Manny back for this game? I am punting for an away draw.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Manny to float a pinpoint cross field pass to Brockie, who scores with a diving header?

Manny to play as our not a striker and score a hat trick and get the hundred dollars from Ernie.

Manny back will help, but two people scoring our goals have been Burns and Krishna. Next we have WeeMac and Roly, we are going to need others to step up and fill that role

Well we have Brockie, Burns, and Cunningham who are all capable on their day.

Edit: Meant Boyd not Burns. Too many B's.

Burns is out, isn't he?

The thought of Brockie and Cunningham being our sharp end doesn't exactly have me leaping with excitement and anticipation

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

It would sort of seem a Brockie thing to do to score a ripper goal just before he departs, that'd go down nicely in this one.

Meant Boyd sorry. I'm an idiot

I'd prefer Boyd and Brockie, to be honest, but that's not gonna happen

Oh I realise we have these people that can score on their day, but they aren't in the rich vain of form that Burns and Krishna are. Don't get me wrong I want them to do well and knock in a few goals against Adelaide but history isn't on our side.

If our midfield can go well as we've seen it can, then hopefully whoever is selected up front can get something out their makeshift defence.

Hell yeah, route one, and he can knock them down for McGlinchey.

Ernie said that Brockie will start, so toss up between Kenny & Boyd for the other slot or do we re-jig the formation?

Permalink Permalink

If A-rod is fit I could see both him and Lia starting and pushing Roly higher up. That way Ernie packs the midfield

I had the exact same thought. Play Brockie as an out and out, McGlichey wide of him and Roly sitting further forward, with Lia and A-Rod behind. Squeeze it out the middle and wide for Sadelaide

I guess the question is do we keep our formation or do we go with the best 11 and make a formation for them.

This is where this crap with Boyd, if it is what has been rumoured here is possibly going to harm our chances this year and that pisses me off. Instead of having a guy like Boyd who has been in good form for the reserves and had some time with the first team, we've got Brockie who has been dead cold, Kenny who hasn't shone in this formation at all and Boyd not having played for a week and a bit and has had almost no time in the A-league this year.

I guess we'll find out.

Another option would be Fenton and Brockie up front, seeing as Manny is back now.

Boyd and Fenton up front. Drop Manny in at rightback A-rod for Lia. Vinnie to come on second half with Brokie and Boxall. Keep the same formation.

Roly seems to play all over the park. He seems to have a license to roam.   he wears a superman cape under his stripey.

Its hinges on how Ernie saw Lias performance on Sunday.

It could well be a similar shape to usual...

Moss

Fenton Sigmund Durante Doyle

Gorrin Riera Lia

McGlinchey Roly  Brockie

Leaves us Boxall, Muscat and Cunningham for the bench

As much as Ernie rates Louis Fenton, I am sure Manny will start.

Which means Fenton, if he does start, might play wide on the right up front with WeeMac wide on the left and Brockie (or possibly Boyd) up front in the middle.

Unless Manny comes in for Doyle at leftback and Fenton stays on the right

Unlikely as TV3 had Boyd as a defender on 2nites news item about gaming and sports.  Manny to rejoin straight away and the Roly not  a striker show to be repeated unless the attack at all costs mantra stands true.
