Alex Rufer  Footballer. Wow. Great performance.

What a step up. Looked like a seasoned professional out there, matching and even surpassing Mandi at points. MOTM contender for sure.

Mandi, Krishna and coach Rudan make it into A-League Team of the Week

What a shame that Fox's bad touch let Kosta score the equaliser. Maybe Doyle shouldve stayed on i doubt he would have let it bounce off him like that.

Doyle would probably have cut out the middle man and buried it straight past kurto.

This is possibly harsh because he's had limited game time, but Fox is for me one of a small group of previous years' players that doesn't appear to have pushed on since Rudan's arrival. When he has been called on to provide cover or do a job this year, it doesn't seem to me that he's stepped up. While still clearly imperfect, Doyle is one of those who has improved immensely.

Agree, and it's a bit of a weakness for us

Anyone else wishing he'd put on Lowry?

I don't think Doyle has improved much- he's always been a capable defender, got a bollocking run, boot, shot and cross- his technique, right foot and consistency have been the gap to being one of the best in the league. We'd rate Siggie a better player so far , yeh?

Agree that Doyle hasn't change/improved much at all; has the same weaknesses as always, just not as obvious in a back 5.

We all know it‘s record not loosing streak, but some of the comments reflects excact the Kiwi attitude Rudan mentioned. If you’re 3:1 up you should win the game, you can only be happy with the draw if you don’t think yourself as a winner. The draw is not the end and hopefully a leason learned. I hope that in year time we win those games.

I’m still happy with the overall performance and in the end it was super entertaining football.

Final thoughts- Kopa moves the ball and passes well. We're a better football team when he's involved.

Sheridan and Krishnas combinations need some work. They need to get on the piss together or something.

Victory's equaliser was against the run of play- 4-2 was looking more likely. Even after 3-3 we were looking to win.

Rivals? With Honda to return

Williams is immense. Wonder how he and Sheridan would have gone at the end. We don't know what we're doing with Sheridan yet. Burgess and Burns keeping the pressure on.

I was harsh on Fox. Half on him, half on failure to convert a 4th or 5th.

We've had some late luck this season- we didn't get it here, but we've got the makings of a good side. How do we hang on to Rudan?

Having just watched the game, thought the new (?) commentator with Miller was very good, none of the usual Aussie B/S.

Singh had a poor game and feel that he was about to be hooked prior to Williams injury.  Sheridan seemed lost, maybe played out of position; Roy was very quiet in second half, and we really struggled to retain possession after the interval following the great play of the first.

Really really really disappointed we did not strive for a 4th right after the 3rd to finish them off.  The squad still seems to underestimate  its potential or subliminally the players still look at MV/Perth as better teams.

The commentator was Adam Peacock, who normally hosts the A-League show.  I have not seen him call a game before.Unlike most of the FOX pundits, he is not a former player but a sports (TV) journalist with particular interest in football.  Mild-mannered and even-handed.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I don't think our second half was that bad, it just that MV played much better.

We actually created many chances in the 2nd half (unless 1st half vs Mariners we were hopeless), if Krishna scored in the 87th min, then there probably won't be a goal from Kosta in the 88th.

Taking Hope off greatly improved the Victory. He had a first half shocker. Fenton tore him apart.

Watched game with a very knowledgeable Melbourne supporter, and he just doesn't understand why Muscat keeps preserving with the youngster.

Muscat made the obvious change at HT, and Victory were immediately a better team. However on another day Nix would have taken one of those 2nd half goal chances and killed things off.

Victory mark III at Eden Park should be a classic.Thankfully I see the Super rugby game (Blues v Crusaders) is the night after, so the surface should be top quality. No NH sandpit Kevin.

Rudan made a comment in the post-game interview that I heard in the 8am RNZ news this morning.  He said that we failed to implement his half-time instructions (or that we failed to follow the game plan in the second half), and that he was unhappy with that.

My question is, did he not see that Doyle was unable to contain Kosta in the first half already?  Doyle is a good player, but Kosta was on another level last night, and simply thrived in the second half when their defence leaks were plugged.

We played better when Kopczynski was there.  As to Kosta, why did he never play like that for us and never plays like that for the AWs (scoring record almost as bad as Brock’s).

That wasn’t the name I saw.  His surname was unpronounceable.

Teo Pellizerri. Not all that unpronounceable! He's pretty new but I like him too. He's super keen, calls the game well and isn't opinionated. Miller is an excellent comments man.

Contrast them with the absolutely dire Brenton Speed/Robbie Slater combo which makes my head nearly explode.

Anyone got the Alex Tobin points for the match? Would guess Krishna 3, Troisi 2, Rufer 1

Big fan of Teo. Leagues ahead of Speed and fudgein Slater

Thought Taylor was definitely at fault too, got his footing all wrong and was wildly out of position. Messed up in the build up to Antonis' post hit too, wasn't too good that game

Maybe the whole long pins and a bit of a (football based) public calling out by the coach got to him a bit.

Best he gets his head back into the football and his head out of other places for a few matches.
