subbing mandi for doyle and bringing kopa into the midfield might also work

Wow, two subs before halftime.....we will nab them second half

I realise he was desperately lunging for the ball, but I really thought Durante was lucky to escape a red, let alone a card for the challenge at the goal.  He has gone right through the back of him.

Yep. Plus we need someone to pick the ball up between the two lines of four in Sydney's defence and Burns has been fairly anonymous.

This has been pretty painful, Sydney well in control

Despite that terrible pass I think Rufer has been the best for us so far.

With that and VAR I thought it might be more than five minutes.

Speaking of should be a red, Ninkovic has just dead set kicked Taylor there.

Phoenix have had the majority of the ball, but only one shot in total in the first half.

Sydney are letting us have the ball at the back and and sitting somewhat deep in two banks of four ... which means Krishna etc. are struggling to get in behind.

Sydney should be 2-0 up as the referee missed a clear handball from Fenton.

That is disgraceful from Ninkovic, really nasty.

Hasn't been that bad, Sydney haven't had any chances outside of that free kick. They seem to be sitting quite deep and not giving us any space to run into. Tactical adjustment needed at half time.

Although they are ahead so don’t have to do anything else

Roy and Mandi haven’t hit a target yet. Rufer coughed it up in the middle but at least made amends with the spin run and pass out of bounds laugh.

They do - they have to prevent us from winning 3:1

I hate to pile on him, but I honestly forgot Burns was playing until a minute ago.  Have I been missing him, or has he gone missing?

Hasn't really been on the ball enough, but seems to be playing behind the front two which isn't exactly his preferred position.

Early on he did a terrible attempt at a cross, and a pass out of bounds, not much after that.

Going to have a hard job keeping that Sydney frontline from scoring on the break as we try to get level.

First touch in second half was great.  Hopefully he can keep it up and have an impact on this half.

Kurto is having a great game. Is that the fourth time he's come off the line to take the ball off the player's foot?

thank F for Kurto

burns was actually decent in the 10mins after half time with a few driving runs and generally getting involved. But we need singh more

Singh on for Burns. Harry Ngata was not very complimentary (on air) about Burns performance tonight

Think that effort will see Burns relegated to the bench for the rest of the season. Surely Burgess is a better starting option if Singh doesn't start in the number 10 role?

Dangerous counter by Sydney as we painstakingly rebuild our attack
