Victory missing Pain, Ansell, Geria & Galloway who are with the Aussie u22s. They play WSW on Tuesday, Traore & Broxham are both 1 yellow away from a suspension. Doubts over Milligan's availability due to injury also.

[Edit: oh and we are on a 7 game losing streak against them ...]

We must be in with points here if ever there was a time. Princess is back for them though.

Our only authentic bogey team.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

My evening wear last night was season 5/6 away shirt over Din in the Tin t (it was cold!): Record: 1 win, 1 draw.

I think I should stick with this for Saturday.

Alternatively, I have Nix City or Pass to Ifill tees - having been used for the last two away wins.

Lost 7 in a row against them, and have conceded three goals in all but one of those seven games (where lost 2-0 instead). I'd settle for a draw.

Huge game for us. I wonder if Ernie will start Brockie again or go with Boyd (unlikely as he usually brings him on to play wide) or Krishna (also unlikely as he hasn't even trained for a week yet). I personally believe Brockie has the goods, but is going through a rough patch. You can see he is so low on confidence..not only in front of goal, but also when he puts pressure on opposition defenders he just looks less....threatening than say, Waffles does.

I really hope he breaks the drought and then goals start coming for him. Also, I know Italiano isn't really an option - but I really hope Ernie gave Moss an earful or two after his silly decision making against CCM which could have cost us the game.

This
He really is an A grade arsehole....unfortunately he is likely to score against us again.
The Victory is the one team that always seem to roll over us. Not sure what it is be that always seem to catch us out. I hope Ernie can come up with a game plan that give us some hope. He needs to look at adapting his defense...if we keep playing a very high line in defense they will screw us. Their passing game and fast counter attacks are difficult to contain. It is very difficult to press them for the whole 90 minutes.
Victory will target Boxall IMO. They will try and draw him forward and then exploit the space in behind him. Boxall should be told to stay back. I would start Boyd. His pace out wide will force their wide defenders to think twice about constantly bombing forward. Ernie needs to get ruthless with his selections. We are carrying some players(Brockie and Carlos) who are not contributing enough to our overall team effort. Time to give them a kick up the arse by benching them. How long can Ernie keep selecting Brockie in the hope that one day he comes right? and I am talking general play as well as goal scoring. I would drop Brockie and Carlos. Move Kenny up front where his pace out wide can be used, he is starting to show that he can be a goal scoring option. Play Stein at AM with Boyd on the other flank and a midfield of Lia, Riera and Hicks/Ridenton
If we get our tactics right and we defend well and try and keep possession for large part of the game then we might get a result...but would be happy with a point.

While I share your sentiment about Brockie and/or Carlos, I have a feeling Ernie will persist with them still.
Boyd will get steamrolled if he starts - but I agree that he needs to come on earlier in the game, for Brockie rather Kenny.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I just hope we don't concede another early goal to a simple through-ball. Should be a game we are targeting to win. Brockie shouldn't start imo. Needs to get his confidence back and should be playing for the reserves tonight. I would be happy with either Boyd or Krishna or even Kenny (with Hicks on the left) starting up front with Stein.

I actually like him. He's a clean player and from what I've heard he's a real good guy. Nothing wrong with winding up opposition fans after scoring, especially when you end up winning as many times as they do against us. There are plenty more way worse than him in the a-league.

Agreed. Archie simply likes to win, and is not unafraid to rub it in when he scores. He is not happy with his form waning, and is determined to come back fighting. I met him once long time ago at a players' outing in Melbourne CBD pre-season, and quizzed him playfully on his NZ "connection". Was genuinely pleasant to talk to, no airs or graces.

Both Archie & Berisha are pantomime villains on the field. They just have something about them that makes you want to hate them.

He did not get on the field last week till late in the second half and it was painful to see his impatience as time wore on and he was still doing warmups on the sidelines. Kinda makes you want to import someone with that attitude to our team.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Berisha. Not since that Pascal Bosschaart episode. My most hated in the league is probably Jeronimo. And then ADP. And Kevin Muscat still counts too I guess.

I'm anti Emerton after some nasty tackles against us, Leo springs to mind.
