We had from 15th to 40th minute. They had the rest. They deserve the 3 points

The Leo sub did not work at all.

Why can't our players hit it first time when they get a look at goal? Why take the extra touch? Why bring it forward. Just take the look you are given

That Leo sub killed us. Changed the entire complexion of the team.

Krishna and Leo look awful

Permalink Permalink

Bit unlucky to concede 2 pearlers like Brisbane have scored but we missed too many chances first half.

Not sure about the fitness levels displayed in the 2nd half by some.

Overall, annoyed not to get a draw here.

I do not think Krishna did much good tonight. Too many errors.

Yeah Stein was having a cracking game in that 10 role and has been invisible since he was switched out of it for Leo. That one backfired on Ernie.

Ernie has had (deservedly) a lot of credit this season, but I think he has to take responsibility for some weird subs and a dreadfully flat second half tonight.  The last 10 or so is maybe understandable in the heat/humidity, but we were awful from the opening whistle of the half.

Bertos showing why he doesn't play much...

Agree Krishna disappointing.

Someone made a comment about humidity, heat etc. Surely the same applies to the host team. They ran like rabbits all night though.

We all know Bertos aint a AM, so why did Merrick play him there

Also if we couldn't beat the Roar tonight without 3 of there best players. Then we never are

Or conversely Ernie needs to play him a bit more - he looked disconnected from the group mind, so to speak.

Bertos just doesn't have a good first touch, good crossing, good shooting...I think that winner even deflected off his foot!

Oh well, better beat Perth next week, hope it's not yet another dull home game v them!!

Krishna pretty disappointing tonight. He was talked up so much and he just didn't show anything.

Permalink Permalink

Boxy was right on the pod. Krishna is a flat track bully. He couldn't run past anyone. To be fair, he did try to play in the game plan rather than call his own number and passed a lot more than he would at ASBP level. Has nothing to suggest he has a career in the HAL longer than this trial.

We weren't full strength either. Missing two Costa Rican internationals who have a shot at being in a World Cup squad is going to hurt.

Boxy missed a sitter, but then again the ref missed Lia's hand deflection in our penalty box.

And two, three or more times the woodwork? Both teams?

Tough day at the office for the lads. You could see they were blowing in the second half...Stein looked knackered. Unfortunately we don't have a very deep squad quality wise. Leo, Krishna, Ciarra are hardly going to trouble the League leaders.

Still we gave it a good shot and dominated the first half. We will get Carlos and Kenny back and will be a much better side next week. Would be interested to know if Boyd was out injured.....poor old Leo is not really up to pace anymore
