Pick ourselves up and shake ourselves off after the game against the Roar. Upwards and onwards.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Any word on Vinnie? Our midfield lost its shape again with Gui & Roly playing together.

Assuming Vinnie is fit, Wee Mac in for Smeltz (with Krishna move up front) along with Lowry in for Rossi would be my only changes.

Unfortunately I had to tune out of the last game but am looking forward to this one. Whilst it's only been less than a month (it seems much longer) surely our attack is firing much better than it was during the nil-nil draw on NYD?

Spain '82 is where it all really began for me. There were a few moments before, plenty of moments after, but that World Cup was the zeitgeist.

Our loss away in Adelaide earlier this season was shambles, in contrast our home loss against Brisbane was probably just a momentary loss of focus against a good team.  Adelaide can put on a good game, but this is not their season, so I would hope we can get an away win and make sure Bozza stays silent.

I hope for Lia to be available - if not, I would hope to see someone else than Roly take his spot.

I know it's mostly fun but we don't want to overrate Mark Bosnich and the influence he has on which teams play in the A-League.

Additionally, his arguments against the Phoenix being there are flawed. For starters, if the Phoenix were there simply to 'benefit the New Zealand national team' then why would we include Australian and foreign players in the roster?

I'm sure this was all discussed in an earlier thread when his comments were first made.

He'd be loving the attention from Phoenix fans. His very own chant would make him delirious.

I really liked him when he was a Socceroo though. Much better shot-stopper than Schwarzer but less consistent and injured at a crucial time in his career (2001), when the latter cemented his place. Bosnich was part of a generation of Australian players very unlucky to never play at the World Cup Finals. Desperately unlucky in 1998, of course, but he can't be blamed for those two late, and devastating, Iran goals.

Last time we played without Rossi we got demolished, potentially no Lia and no Rossi doesn't sound like much fun.

Fortunately it is Adelaide so we do have a chance.

When I tweeted Piney asking about Vinnie, he replied that Des said on Sat night it was just a tight hammy & that Lia is up for media duty on Tuesday which is normally a good sign

So... centre back pairing?

What was Rossi's card for? Can we get it over turned?

Would expect Lowry to come in, he seems to have jumped past Fox in the pecking order.

What was the card for though? We were completely in the dark about it at the game. Obviously something in back play?

Probably for not having enough cards!

From memory, which is a little hazy, he fouled a Brizzy player, play went on for the advantage and the ref booked him when it was done. I haven't seen a replay but I did remember thinking the ref got it right.

Nope.

Still not firing.

Never looked like scoring on Saturday. Maybe some heading practice for the 50 corners we get per game and never put any pressure on opposition let alone score.

Defensive midfield non existent. Brisbane ran through our midfield in every move. They need to watch a Roy Keane clip. When to give a card appropriately for the team. Rather than Dura yelling at A-rod after each attack.

50 passes around the back with no penetration and no one wanting to pass to smeltz in an attacking position was hard to watch.

Better 'luck' vs Adelaide. Or maybe a tactical meeting instead of luck.

just as an aside , how many games do you think Roy Keane would manage to play in a season nowadays ? Probably marginally a few more rhan Vinnie Jones would.

I always have that sinking feeling every time we play In Adelaide, things always seem to go against us there. But I think surely this time we've a got a decent shot.

Because I'm often a negative bastard when it comes to my sporting teams I do appreciate a positive 'can do' post from someone else, so cheers!

We simply cannot be dropping too many points, losing too many games, from here on in. Look at the table, eleven rounds to go, we'll get left out in the Autumn cold if we don't keep this momentum we have had of late.

Go 'Nix.

Forecast is for 36 tomorrow but by KO is should have dropped a bit.

Must win game. We certainly have the players to do this but I guess anything can happen.

It's not quite 'must win' is it? I'd be happy with a draw.

Typical weather conditions that must be overcome when playing away. Just like a team from Brisbane coming to Wellington in January, on a bad day...

Realistically yes given Jets are now ahead of us and games to come against Roar.

WSW could also pull off an upset and beat the Roar so we'd be back in 8th place.
