Bugger,  thought we'd have the win there.

At least it wasn't a loss.

Disappointing again.  Couldn't afford Kosta blowing those two first half chances.

We should have won...but did well and were lucky to hang on given we hadn't put the game away in the first half.

I know we are exhausted but it's incredible how long Moss is taking with goal kicks. We are playing against 10 men with top 4 spot not far off. Have a go!

Walking 5 minutes in this is bad enough...

True, awful conditions but can you imagine MV or Sydney with their season on the line doing the same thing? Probably I'm being harsh but it seems to say something about our winning mentality, or lack of it.

Frustrating game but definitely not dull!

Sign Lowry up for another couple of years please. Draw was a good result in the end. Crazy hot but both teams had more than enough chances to win it.

I was disappointed with Finkler, McG and Watson. Their subs made a much greater impact than ours, especially given they were a player down.

Struggling to see how we're top 6 contenders really. We still haven't quite connected the dots. We really gave them every chance with all the wayward passes.

Has anyone given Smeltz anything he can work with? Has he even had a shot for the Nix yet? Not his fault - he's just not getting any service.

I think he's good squad cover, but he's a little slow. Fantastic game though! He's another from the Tratt school of never die wondering...Fox has dropped down the pecking order, given that he was starting for big parts of last season and some were talking long term succession...

Lowry is not fast. But his positioning is fantastic.

Yeah Lowry was really good. Was it just me or did we seem to get pinged for the same sorts of fouls that Adelaide didn't?

Lololololololol

Did you see the director of the Fox coverage slomo-ing a fantastically good block because their crowd booed? Hindmarsh crowds are an extra player and do a great job of pressuring the ref.

In hindsight Ridenton would have been a better choice to put in than Finkler. Was a game when we need a grafter not a show pony

I've seen steady progress from you guys since Xmas and considering you're under new coach and an unfamiliar group of players I'd say it bodes well for a finals spot.

We needed midfield running and tackling. 3 attacking subs was a massive mistake by the coaching staff.

Plus A Rod and Vinnie were starting to struggle.  Which, combined with Rolly coming off and McG and Finkler both playing high was, I think, why Adelaide were dominating the midfield the last 15mins.  Finkler was never going to help out deeper.

We've looked good with A Rod, Vinnie and Roly operating as a three in the middle, and with Kosta, Krishna and Smeltz playing in front of them.  And the FBs prepared to overlap.  But that went to custard with the subs.  Ridenton might have worked better.

Yeh, it was a pretty good watch.  I think the commentators were right giving both teams credit for an entertaining game in the conditions.

Shame we couldn't nick it, but Adelaide will be dissapointed as well.  They sure as heck had the chances to beat us.

Some excellent performances tonight, and some disappointing. Tratty's runs in that heat were great, Lowry's positioning superb, Mossy some top saves, Roly excellent (should have stayed on), Roy and Doyle super goals. A Rod slidging in to try and turn in that late cross showed heaps of heart.
Disappinting lack of impact or even attitude from Finkler, Mikey tried hard. Doyle and Kosta gave away too much ball.

Good result in the end in those awful conditions. I bet the recovery will be tough. Well done Nix. Keen as for New Plymouth.

Crikey.

I'd be surprised if you don't wallop the WSW next & go on to secure a 5th or 6th spot to be honest.

If not, well you might get the "honour" of knocking us off our undefeated perch (if Brissy don't do it first)...

Everything considered a point was a good result as with the chances Adelaide had they should have scored 5/6

Fair enough. And it seems we score better in the heat of Adelaide than in the cool breeze of Wellington.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

he doesn't seem to be adding to the team at all. Apart from one penalty kick, I think his dead balls have been quite poor this year too.

I'll take a draw, but we really should have won. The heat was unbearable when just sitting directly facing the sun so I can't imagine having to play 90mins!

Tratt, Lowry, Mossy, all great today.

The two Victory recruits need to give more.. WAY more. Finkler does nothing of note to deserve 700k.

And Lia... Jeez. Look, I've never rated him. I've made that clear, and despite recent performances showing some class, he has returned to the Vinnie I know and I don't know how much longer we'll put up with him.

Starting 11...

Moss

Tratt, Durante, Rossi, Lowry

Barbarouses Finkler Bonevacia McGlinchey

Krishna Parkhouse

Doyle's control isn't good enough. Three bad mistakes in H1. Great goal.

Smeltz is ineffective. Heavy touch these days. Not looking likely to score.

How can McGlinchey not be in the starting 11?

Finkler too classy to leave out, needed for free kicks.

Barbarouses is fast and skilful but not great at crossing and passing.

Parkhouse's touch is adequate, not the best, but strong and determined.

Yes i wondered whether Rossi might have been first to the ball in that rebound for Adelaide's second.

We don't have a great record in Adelaide so I'm happy to take a point. A bit miffed by some of the coaching decisions  - when it became obvious that we were sitting deep and trying to hit them on the counter it was strange to keep Smeltz on the pitch for so long. He's too slow for that game and he was just isolated and unable to contribute anything. Our midfield was stretched to breaking point because of the massive amount of space Lia and A-Rod were left covering yet there was no help brought on for them. We also just left that last sub really late considering how hot it was and how spent our whole team looked.

Cant believe how accepting many of you are about yet another disappointing result.Yes it was bloody hot but they are bottom of the league and again we struggle to put them away. Yet another game where despite creating a heap of chances we seem unable to put the bes.t of them away.

Do enjoy the way the guys play but there are still times where they resort back to the old back to Mossy to hoof it up field and expect Kosta and Roy to win jumping duel.

We still give away far to much possession far to easily with just down right rubbish passing accuracy many times when they are not even under pressure. What the hell is up with Kosta the Victory Kosta would have buried those chances.

Some Wellington Phoenix players were ill with heatstroke during their 2-2 away draw against Adelaide on Sunday after a request to delay the game was refused.

Phoenix staff asked Football Federation Australia to delay kick-off in the fixture in Adelaide which was played in oppressive temperatures above 38 degrees.

Wellington's request was refused and the match went ahead as scheduled from 4.30pm local time.

Some Phoenix players suffered heatstroke and were sick at halftime of a game which featured drinks breaks at 15-minute intervals.

This is ridiculous.
