Three of our back four with yellow cards. I sense a red coming up. Perth have a few yellows as well. Our passing has not been up to it today.

I think it's not as dire as everyone else sees it and we have certainly been in it. We are losing it in the front 3rd though but that's cause City chuck a wall up and we really only have 2 forward. They are certainly hammering Doyle's side but I would expect them to come right down the middle after half with both our CBs on yellows and capable of getting a second. Roly has been holding the ball up a bit much and as a result, is playing laterally once he has pirouetted on the ball. A-Rod has been our best. Covering getting back, good passes... and some people think he does nothing.

Riera has been quite poor; probably 5 or 6 misplaced passes.

Kosta summed it up when he signed: 'just need three or four players to become genuine contenders'.

Disappointing crowd size.

The kids chanting is probably the best part.

Having said that if we count the way the lions count we got an attendance of 22000

I reckon about 10/12.  Very unusual for him.

If we have to be totally honest we need to replace at least four players if we want to compete in this league.

Again Perth proved how the A League has moved on compared to us.

Four more quality players are needed to keep up with the pace.

This was agony to watch, futuristically .

Perth never really had to change gear, and were streets ahead of us right through their side.

As already mentioned we need four quality players and that is without Kosta, as he will only be as good as the team. Watching him now against N/castle I am not impressed.

Kenny Lowe might be a bit of a cock but I've got to hand it to him he is a good coach. I like watching Perth. Their style is a nice contrast to the other top teams - much more direct but effectively so. I thought Castro was a dud early on in the season but he's turned out to be a terrific player.

As for us, apart form the obvious fact that we were second best in every single department, it amazed me how awful the first touch was of all our guys in attacking positions. It's unforgivable at this level. Add to that a generally poor standard of passing (what the hell is going on with Riera?) and any chance of us competing was gone.

Not terribly upset by this result because I expected it but it's disappointing to see so many of our players not performing to their full capabilities, even if the season is winding down.

Oddly optimistic but I agree. The front third is clearly the problem and maybe only 1 or 2 players away from being really competitive, not the 3 or 4 as some suggest. At some point during the second half we had the ball for about 30 passes in the midfield (after A-rod was subbed) but everything was going lateral. The three front players were static, stuck on their markers and no one looking to come deep to recieve or to create space for each other. Without any threat in the front third of course the team will be under more pressure than desired at the back, with front foot ball the opposition would sit deeper and deeper, the Nix just aren't able to build that pressure without Krishna and Burns...

Yep Kosta will only be as good as the quality players around him. Otherwise he will end up running around like a headless chook.

Don't forget we went well off the boil with Krishna and Burns at the end of last season, and that with Watson and Powell we've beaten WSW 5-2 and Sydney 3-1, both away.

Another utterly woeful performance in front of an absymal attendance of 5800, and who can blame people for staying away?  Even the people there were just talking amongst themselves for the most part - the game was boring.

Fact is that unfortunately bar Krishna, today was our best 11.  It is WAY short of where it needs to be, and yet we've resigned pretty much all of them?!  Duranta, McGlinchey and Lia get two year deals?  Incredible. They must have thought it was Christmas day when those contacts were put in front of them.

Ernie has had 3 years now, he's failed horribly in two of three years and his refusal to change tactics throughout makes me think it might be time for another change.

Today was absymal, as was our last home game, and there are no excuses for performances like that.

I think the end of last season was a direct result of not having a plan B (or plan B being injured). Right now we have a plan B, unfortunately we are just forced to play it every game.

I'm looking forward to the off season, that was really shark football . Any positives? Maybe the statistics? One shot on goal 1 goal? 100% success. People leaving after 75 minutes.

No doubt we were abysmal but I don't think we can read too much into this game. We just looked like we have given up on the season. Next year, with Kosta and a couple of new defenders and no license bullshark hanging over us we could be a very different team.

I think you hit the nail on the head as to why everyone is so pissed off - it looks a bit like we've given up.
