Brilliant second half...they were almost a mirror of us last week.

Where'd that put us on da ladder?

Massive turnaround. Hopefully they use it to make sure not more Heart episodes occur.

Loving the A League this year and how close it is. Also the quality of the goals seems to me to have taken a real big leap. Every week we seem to conceed a screamer almost, but like wise we score one.

Was glad to see Ridenton do alright tonight after last weeks performace. His passes almost always found their mark.

Good to be winning again.

Also quality ball by Lia to send Waffles on his way to tee up Brockie, outside of the foot and everything!!

We play Boxall, Durante, Siggy and Manny across the back most weeks. In fact weren't they the 4 across the back when we beat Victory 5-0? Does that make the argument moot?

The big hole is the loss of Riera. I used to be a Lia hater until Riera feed him up to be useful. In my opinion he's not suited to that holding role.

I felt Hicks had a poor game, but that comes back to the experience argument.

No quick solutions available unless we can pick up a solid DM as injury cover. Matt Thompson perhaps since he's been sent to the naughty corner by Frankie Farina? Just until the Rieralucion can start again.

Yeah, that was the back 4. You can argue that it works. But sometimes it doesn't work. In my opinion Muscat is a better holding midfielder than left back, and yes, Boxall has played well in patches. The problem is the inconsistency, Yeah we won v Vctory 5-0. Good. But then the same back 4 lost 0-5 v Heart. Not so good.

I agree with the loss of Riera though. it is huge. But what is Vinnies role in the team then? I think we have better options, but thats my opinion and yes he isn't suited to a holding role.

I feel try Muscat at Holding, he played really well against Brisbane there first game of the season, hasn't played there since. Caria at Left back.

If we lose, then ok, maybe try something else.

See, you CAN post without implying that everyone else (including Ernie) is stupid. Well played.

Your changes to the lineup (Muscat to midfield, Caira to left back and Boyd in for Brockie) are pretty sensible I think.

The changes worked. Keep the faith with Boyd, he might not be getting on the scoresheet but his movement and energy gives the likes of Huysegems and Hernandez more time and space, and Brockie on a sub can expose tired defenders because of it.
Same lineup next week?

Great second half.

Nice turnaround after the missed pen.

Dura said after the game it took a while for them to work out the press then....

when they did the goals came.

We now have a good coach and look what can happen

Love seeing Brockie smile after that goal, well done to him.

Also want to say, Boyd put in a really solid shift today as well. Didn't get the glory, but worked hard and definitely deserves to start against Adelaide.

That's really promising to turn around from last week, really happy with that. Think our remaining matches against Adelaide will be season defining.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Smithy, is Cunningham still your least ever favourite player ;-)

I wasn't a fan but am quickly being converted.

He doesn't look like much of a technician. But he's pretty good. Like an A-League quality Krishna.

I agree

I still don't think he's actually very good either.  But he seems abnormally strong and has a nuggety way of playing which is quite hard to defend against.  He uses his body really well to make it hard to get the ball off him.  It's not something we really coach in NZ

When he scores, I'm all like:

He may be a donkey, but he's our donkey goddamit

Cunningham has an awful touch, but he has determination and heart... and that shit you just can't coach!!

But seriously how good would he be with a first touch.

What a strange game, couldn't have predicted that!

Awful decision for the penalty followed by an even more awful penalty kick. Moss had to wait for it to arrive!

Big ups to Cunningham who has pulled that game by the scruff of the neck, with help from a top Hernandez strike.

CCM just got worse and worse.

MOM was Cunningham for me, then Sigmund. Moss had a much better second half.

As for Caira's "underlaps", Ive no idea what the tactic is there! Trying to make space for Cunningham to run into maybe?

Don't you just love football. Last week they tear your heart out...cook it and serve it up with tripe....a week later ecstacy!!!!

Great second half. Some of the passing and movement was as good as you would see on any football field on the planet. The sign of a team with ticker is how they respond to a thrashing.....and our boys came out and delivered the biggest away win in the clubs history. Well done Ernie, well done lads.
