Only one player between Kopa and the goal line, therefore offside.

keeper was ahead so it meant that the defender on the line becomes the keeper in terms of the offside rule.  kopa was in line with that keeper/defender meaning offiside.  unfortunate but the rule

Commentators gushing over that offside call like it was some sort of unknown rule.

OK well the commentators just explained it. Makes sense, good decision.

There has to be two opposition players between you and the goal, because the keeper was advanced, this left Kopa sitting between the two, so only 1 between him and the goal, ergo, offside.

But by the time it deflected back to Kopa he was n an onside position, wasn’t he? Wouldn’t that be a new phase of play 

It's a shambles in there. Mandi's getting repeatedly robbed just outside our penalty area.

I feel we havent changed out tactics in about 10 weeks and other sides have realised this. 

Deflected is the key word there - similar to if the keeper had of saved it.  I'd say it was same phase of play.
