I fell asleep after the Zadkovic screamer, had dreams all night about Perth winning 2-1 and unseemly gloating... and now this.

Good work from Krishna and Lia, everyone's favourite designated scapegoats now that Brocks has gone.

Recorded the game last night. Got up at 5am this morning for a piss. Couldn't get back to sleep for no obvious reason, just couldn't switch my brain off. Gave up trying at 6:30, got up and watched this. Fudgeing awesome. I reckon my subconscious was keeping me awake because it wanted me to get up and watch it.

Also, Perth are dicks. Felt extra sweet to beat them because of that.

didn't expect to win this - 3 in a row over good teams!

I like tautologies because I like them.

Unacceptable

Well done team, consolidate with thrashing the a Roar please.

Recorded on MySky as noted earlier and just finished watching.  Unexpected result :>).  Krishna did well with his second when Perth continually packed the defence and we were often 5 on 8.  Roly had another good game and some of Lia's passes were great.

Hope Mannys shoulder is okay.

BTW Vinnie has had a very good game. Up there with his best.

reckon he suits teams like perth pretty well

physically strong to match up and not exposed by fast breaking numbers so much

congrats on the 150

the impression i had was that we played to space better and mostly kept it moving and away from their mobsters, less ball to feet with a man sitting on the back and kicking lumps out, which I thought we did too much in the draws at HuttRec

thought Ernie closed this out well with the subs

Perth are off the boil but still hard to beat, especially after midnight and with two key players out.  tho' Vinnie may actually have suited this game better than Rodriguez

Fantastic, didn't really expect this game to be worth staying up for. Glad I'm wrong.

Get in there.

Are you serious? We had the chance to go top of the league with a win and you were thinking of going to sleep instead?

no, I was always going to stay up just thought I would regret it.

Lia passable.  I am still forums biggest Lia hater.

Thought Lia did quite well in trying conditions, so credit where credit is due; pass to Louis for first goal was brilliant.

Game also confirmed again that Roly is our one irreplaceable player. Burns is good, but he doesn't drive the team.

Perth play pretty boring football against us, and usually bring out the worst in us too. Was far from a block buster match. Glad we won though

Yep, didn't have players dragging him out of position, triangle passing round him and running past him so much. And their press wasn't as effective as it was in the first game at home, so he was able to recover any poor touches and get some confidence on the ball.

On a side note, Perth's attendance was a touch over 9,000, which is proportionally pretty poor for a city of over 1.5 million. Yet the Aussie media/fans stay silent on this and bash us getting 8,000 in a city a fifth of the size.

The only response to that is to win the bloody league!

This is just great! I knew that would be the our best season, but being in the first place is just a new, strange sensational, feeling. We just have the keep the momentum and keep going and everything will be fine.

You realise that if we win the league the calls for us to get kicked out will probably increase?

Possibly true,  but it will make it exponentially more difficult for the FFA to not renew the licence to the defending champions of their Flag Ship competion

Was a little disappointing to see that the Nix being top of the league was not one of the head line articles on Stuff.  The media needs to promote the team and build it up so we can get big crouds to the stadium

Yep. It was on the Herald.

On stuff it was below an article on funding to ASBP and EPL stuff.

And no kudos to Radio New Zealand and their sport items in the news bulletin at 10am who first commented on Burnley's chances in EPL before mentioning that Phoenix won in Perth too.  You'd think they have Phoenix allergy.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

TV 1 had the bare basics, umless TV 3 had it on before the cricket, there were ninone, which wouldn't  surprise me with Hamish "I wank off anything to do with the All Blacks" Mckay reading the section tonight.

Will it really make a difference.Must be the pain of their convict background, but it does seem at times that some over there would prefer franchises to struggle and be propped up by the FFA. Guess it gives them something to bitch about when it goes tits up again like the Jets and Gold Coast. Wonder what will happen when their secret millionaire at Canberra does aTinkler or Palmer,

Krishna was god. I haven't read all the comments but I bet he got a certain amount of stick from of his early work.

But there were heaps of others players who were fantastic overall, but sometimes it didn't come off - Roly, Griffiths, McGlinchey,Albert . I don't care, as a team I thought we were great. Moss was superb as was Sigmund, but Durante was exceptional.. Lia gave me heart attacks with some of his passing and Id rather he was replaced but he contributed to the overall team effort.

Like the pinpoint cross to Louie on the right wing who squared to the goalmouth for Krishna's first goal.

Thought Lia's passing was far more measured than usual and he did a good job of trying to replicate what A Rod has done well for us in previous games.
