It will be interesting to see how much, if at all, Talay changes the starting XI with the midweek game next week. Good chance to give players a chance to put their hands up ahead of the run in to the playoffs
R22 vs CCM | Sun 8th Mar | 6:00pm | SS7
The three subs made a good impact I thought. Sotirio and Rufer esp
Got excited by the ladder before realising the next game guarantees we drop a spot.
Will have a game in hand over city though
Better to have the points than a game in hand.
I'm not denying that.

He's said multiple times that he likes consistency so I wouldn't expect much.
Congrats on the win you where by some stretch the better side...
IMO you are the second best team we have faced from a technical sense only South Gosford FC were better.
Huge respect you were the cleanest side this year ...
Could not understand the Jair foul, would have been a soft pen, but goes that way when you sit bottom of the table for years...
Good luck in the finals.....
Just finished watching... Great win overall. Thought it was good of Cacace to stay on but also a bit silly, especially when he sprinted to get a ball. Why risk making an injury worse when you're 3-0 (then 3-1) up with only a couple of minutes left on the clock.
Same goes for Matti. He gets lots of yellows, and he got one with 5 to go when we were 3 goals to the good.. Why??
Happy with Sotirio who did really well when he came on and showed to be well fired up.
We don't play sydney for another week and half. So no reason to be conserving energy. I thought we looked a bit stale and rusty after the bye week But still good win away from home even if only against CCM. But at times our ball speed was far too slow. And in the second half we were to happy to sit back. Going to need a bit more tempo if we want to beat MV next week.
The Kersey Show, And on tonight's show, I'll show you how to juggle a red and yellow card as if they are coming out of a popup toaster.
I'm predicting 6 yellow card and 1 red card to the Nix. The red will be to our goalkeeper for sneezing in the direction of the assistant linesman. CCM will get a token gesture yellow card in the 95th minute to show impartiality. Matt Simon will go the entire game without a card, despite the usual Matt Simon performance.
I stand to be proven wrong and probably will be. I'd love the Nix to win 8-2 again but cannot see it with this guy in charge.
In fairness to Kersey he had a pretty good game. A few niggly bits ignored and the late cards but overall he did fairly well and at least tried to let it flow. Well done Adam Kersey.

Damnit, got my weeks mixed up, thought it was this week. Now what've I got to look forward to on Wednesday ?

Daniel Garb tweeted that he asked Cacace after the game and he said it was just cramp.
Rumor is that Staj is getting the sack. Apparently was summoned to CCM management and missed the press conference.
A damned shame if true. Scoring the Mariners gig has become a career killer. The club hands over the reigns to each new poor sap and says, here, make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Turns out it was BS, the conference is online. But i agree, it's clearly not a coaching issue.

totally not a coaching issue, the owners spend nothing on players, any new coach has to rebuild the squad from NPL players only. I think I heard last night that there are 10 off contract end of this season for CCM. So surely the players who want to stay should be playing for their lives. But even then, who does the coach have to offer as a potential replacement for these off contract players? some unknown NPL kid! would suck to be a CCM fan right now that's for sure.

Even the FOX Sports commentators said that Matti's card was harsh and that it did not deserve a yellow. Same guys who also said that Kersey correctly called no foul on Jair in the box, and that "Taylor showed all his class and experience how to do that correctly" or something to this effect. Happy times.
I was shocked when Harper (why do I still listen to him??) said there was 'contact' in the first half when one of the CCM lads went down in the box, having been touched by no one...
Re Matti, he still slid in. The opposition player was being marked, Rufer was coming back, there just was no need to jump in like that, the way I see it, with 5 minutes to go and being 3-0 up.
I agree it was a generous yellow, he only collected the player with his trailing leg, but every time you leave your feet you have to think there's a chance you'll commit a foul and potentially get a yellow.
For someone like Matti who's had what, 6-7 yellows in about 20 games, I think it's not a great look.
More concerned with Cacace getting himself dumb and needless yellow cards by fannying about at throw ins, to be honest.

he's received 3 yellows for wasting time with throws now? one if memory serves was a call from the coach to "slow down" can't recall if it was Rudan or not....but the last 2 have been silly. He is still only 19, so maybe a little bit of immaturity showing through.

Most people have their own goal celebrations, few have their own time wasting move. I like that.
Sorry don't agree with age call he has played enough A league to no when not to push it to far. They are just dumb cards and we as a team seem to get to many for silly play. Gets frustrating to see Ball, Davilla, and Piscopo particularly hacked down constantly and refs not giving out cards.

Its made worse because they've got a lot of money invested in players who are clearly not worth it.

yeah he's been told to go back to the postion the ball went out a couple of times too - but then every player does this.

experience is different to maturity though, sure he's played enough games at this level to know not to give away silly fouls, but then even players who have played many more games as him given silly fouls away.
totally agree with the frustration with cards not been given out when our boys are being hacked down!
50 games and he should have learned by now. I think it is one part of his game that he needs to sort if he is to progress to the much higher levels his talent otherwise suggests.
i think it's funny and fans love a bit of sharkhousery. Card shouldn't matter either as the threshold increases after the Victory game. Very little wrong with it, I have no clue how it affects his game at all
I'll tell you this - when we're 1-0 up in the 89th in the GF v Bling FC, I'll absolutely back Cacace's sharkhousery to the hilt.
On more than one occasion this season I have seen Ufuk telling him to slow things down.
Its part of football, just like shielding the ball in the corner.

And if the Nix are down 1-0 in the 89th, do we still endorse his action?

No..? In what world do you think a player would time waste when they are 1-0 down with only a few mins to go??

I don't know a lot about the Italian league, but from a very good article a read a few years ago sharkhousery and gamesmanship is of massive importance on the field in the Serie A and a big part of the game there. Wish I could find the writeup, was very interesting.

What's the beat Libby learnt such dirty tricks by watching endless Serie A games with his Papa. They are Napoli fans right? A club whose most famous player gave us the 'hand of god'.
Ask any Socceroos fan, and they haven't forgiven the ref falling for some Italian gamemanship in their 2006 round of 16 match. In the Latin DNA.

I have so many upsets with Italien football, I'll never respect them.
The two ball throw in is fantastic and I hope he is practicing to get it up to three balls.
