New metric Dale. Phoenix have to default game due to no one available to play. Unless the Fever takes to the pitch and play.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Over the years, I have missed a number of games with work and other commitments. This is the first that I am thinking of not going because of "Meh".

I will overcome that though and will get my arse along.

7pm KO on a Sunday. Is there a worse kickoff time?

Yes. When we're playing away in Perth on Sunday night, and our Sky TV viewers (ratings) are calculated as "key metrics"

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Another 6 pointer.  I hope we win this one

So we will be lining up with something like this?

Mambo

Tratt? Fox Rossi Parkhouse

Roly Lia Finkler

Ridenton Watson Kosta

Sail Lowry A-Rod Singh Rogerson

If Tratt isn't back, I guess Ridenton to RB, Rogerson into the starting line up and McGarry onto the bench.

curtain raiser for this one too.  Team wellington v waitakere.  Will be a good watch.

I recon we'll do this comfortably.

Even our B team is better than the Jets, in fact our B team is probably better than our A team right now, at least they'll have desire.

I think the club said that Tratt is away in Oz indefinitely for "personal reasons" but might be back "later in the season"...

So, unlikely to be available on Sunday...

Otherwise your suggested lineup is probably what will happen I think - except A-Rod will be a starter...

The difference between us and teams below is they are shark teams and play as good as they can. As opposed to us, we have good players and the team plays as as shark as possible. This is a must win, again. Maybe the international is a good disruption.

Ridenton - Fox - Rossi - McGarry

Barbs        Lia - A Rod    Parkhouse

           Watson and Smeltz

Easily swap out Watson for Finkler, but I think we could use his mongrel and he works harder IMO.

Lets play with some genuine width and try to hit two decent targets in the middle.

Smeltz is with the the All Whites.

Wonder if Jack-Henry Sinclair comes into the mix for the right back role,  he was on the bench Round 1 when the AWs were away

Fenton?

A little worried about Watson, his form has been as bad as it gets.

huh?

haven't you seen Sky TV's ad that keeps reminding us about the passion of Phoenix football and their on-going quest in 2017 to make history???

note to self: must ask Sky what that historical quest involves.

Best thing about this game is that after this we only have 1 left at home.Pretty depressing to be thinking like that but after 2 underwhelming seasons that seemed to have promised much its becoming very hard to keep my record intact.

I feel really grateful to have been on holiday without TV or good net for the last one. Our two most disappointing results this season have been against WSW.

I don't feel so bad about this season as a northern fan- had some good games up this way and that Garage Project beer was stonking.

That said- I hate the length of the off season.

It sucks too that because I think we had a genuine right to be excited with the talent at our disposal this season and for whatever reason- team failure, a combination of crap fixtures and some very poor offside calls that prevented us getting away to a good start...

For whatever reason the team didn't gel, the tactics didn't work...

For the Wellington fans it seems like a terrible deal this season- hardly any games before Christmas and we've given up fortress Westpac in a big way. At least Ricki had that right?

The attacking verve was supposed to make up for the defensive frailties, but has never really eventuated.

A-Rod, Smeltz, Krishna, Mikey...each of them put their hand up at one time or another as a possible salvation, but each has fallen away.

I personally have enjoyed the games I've been to and been frustrated by a number of the ones I've watched- especially away late in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne etc etc...

Is it broken beyond repair? No way. But let's not kid ourselves it's as easy to turn around as say Adelaide, with their history and friendly reffing (!) or  other clubs in Aussie.

We need a combination of a great man manager and a reasonable tactician. We're always going to need players to play above themselves and develop if we are going to do well. But we also need someone who can convince good Aussie players to come here. Merrick had that, more than any of our coaches so far.

I'm Phoenix till I die. Just want some players to go to the Brown/Sigmund/Muscat/Daniel/Greenacre/Riera school of effort and commitment. Thought Watson and Tratt were on their way, but both seem to have dropped off and Krishna looks exhausted...

Want to see a bit more of with your shield or on it. A bit more of any loss really hurting and any win being richly richly enjoyed...
