What a strange game that was, glad it was us on the receiving end of some terrible defending for once!  Watson looks useful, I thought it was a complete joke he got another chance but he might be playing his way into another contract for next season at this rate

He's been quite clinical with his finishing. But his touch is soooo bad. And his passing isn't much better.

I think it does definitely help us that our smaller players have someone with a bit more of a physical presence to play around.  It gives us a bit of a different feel in attack.  Agree with the negatives though which is why I am so surprised he got another look in to be honest

I think we still need him or a striker like him for next season, otherwise our front line will be a small gathering of midgets and we need to have other options available to us. look at our goalscoring record this season until he signed, then after. he has come in and made a difference.

(warning: I have no idea of the record as i have not looked, but i have a good feeling we have scored more per game since he has come in)

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

The word that comes to my mind when I look at Watson playing is "raw".

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

In the WSW game, I think it's the first or second that Powell scores Watson goes up for a header, doesn't win it and the ball comes through to Powell in space and he scores.  Can't really credit Watson with much other than being a big unit but it does open up different possibilities for us

Are we crediting Watson with the assist for Roly's goal? One of the sharktest shots you'll ever see but his touch sent the defending the wrong way and made Janjetovic dive, opening up space for Roly's shot to go in.

Reminded m immediately of another great goal, that I was privileged to see myself.

Mark Bresciano scoring for Australia in 2005 against Uruguay, after Kewell miskick.

well it was the last touch! Meets the definition.

Also cos you'll get a lot of brilliant work that ends up saved or hitting a seaull etc etc I say claim it.

He has a bit of Matt Simon about him tbh. Not the most naturally gifted player but he brings the best out of the smaller, technical players around him. I dont think its a surprise the Wee Mac has rediscovered his CCM form with him on the park.

We brought in Griffiths last season for a Plan B option, I think that Watson should be this option moving forward. I don't think he is good enough to be a starter but as a different option up front, he could be handy to keep around the squad.

I think even just having the big guy on the pitch can open up defences a bit. Opposition defenders look to shut down crosses more for instance because they're more concerned about the ball coming in. DMs might be less likely to commit professional fouls around the box because of the extra threat at set pieces. Basically it just adds an extra element for the opposition too consider. Doesn't mean he should start every game but it's nice to have if we are struggling to break teams down.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.
