They have played us off the park in the first half, but if we can score a goal, the game can change.

Which is why I shuddered when I saw he would be today's ref. All the later problems in the half stemmed from the ludicrous yellow card he gave Roly, which was totally out of proportion to the offence. Both teams then went into a cycle of tit-for-tat fouls and general frustration, forcing the weak and inconsistent KGJ to keep trying to even the tally. A classic example of a poor referee negatively affecting the rhythm of a game.

Disagree with a couple of the refs decisions around yellow cards, but that's not why we are losing. Melbourne came out very strongly. When we started to come back in the match and look ourselves, the game got broken up with the injury, Melbourne holding the ball for long periods of time, and then we lost the plot about a couple of the refs decisions. We had some promising attacks but never got into much rhythm.

Every chance in the second half if we can get it together.

We are just not in it. Possession is 41%. As Ryan Rovers said, we have zero intensity. They are really pressuring us and we have to go long to get out rather than play out from the back so we just kick it back to them. Manny is not having a good game and was responsible for the goal and getting caught, boxed in or leaving a man free. I don't think you can single McGlinchey and Rodriguez out cause are midfield collective is not performing, Roly included along with others. Burns for me is doing too much when he has the ball. He beats 5 guys and tries the 6th.

We need to go back to receive, then when the pressuring man is almost there, pass to the free man. We just do not be doing that. We seem to want to hold onto it. I suspect (and I have not been watching it) but our movement off the ball is not there.

I guess the other point, how good is Riera?

I think the only yellows really are Roly and Georgievski. The rest are meh and because the ref fudgeed up earlier so it trying to balance it when there should be no need to.

Muscat's positioning is poor, and when did he last pass a ball with his left peg
