Yeah interesting as the release from the nix yesterday has him as being out due to international duty.

those squads are just for media releases, they aren't binding to who you can select on matchday or anything.

True. Either a late decision to fly him back or they’re trying to trick Brisbane then.

Doubt that he will be playing for us. Con job.

I don't know what I am hoping for any more...

I hope the boof heads didn't dig up the pitch too much tonight to give us a flat track to play on.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Why wouldn't he be? What do we have to gain to "con" Brisbane?

Oh I meant trick Brisbane by naming him as out on international duty then including him in the squad at the last minute, not the other way round.

With the losses of Singh,Ridenton,Doyle,Rufer and Mcglinchey to All Whites duty and Krishna on Fijis Tour of the Phillipines I really see no hope of a result here. It will be nice to see the younger boys given a go but I don't think they will be able to step from the Premiership to the A-League in one match. I'm gonna go with a hard fought 3-1 loss in which we play reasonably without our internationals but just still don't have the quality.

We are going to go 3-0 up like last time we were at home to Brisbane, but this time we will lose 4-3 instead of it ending in a draw. Parkhouse to get all 3 goals for us.

I’d guess they’re more so the media have a story leading into the weekend of fixtures. It does still show when guys are out with injury, occasionally there might be a surprise but for the most part they’re accurate enough.

Certainly not to con Brisbane, but to con people for a bigger gate.

Why would the Fiji FA CEO lie to get a couple of extra people into a Wellington Phoenix game?

The last we’ve heard from the Phoenix is when the lineups were announced earlier in the week, which has him listed as out due to international duty. It’s Fiji who have said he’s missing their 2nd game to fly back and play for the Phoenix.

Krishna also tweeted yesterday saying good luck to the Fijian team.

Really, there must be a sale on tin hats with a lot of the insanity posted on here.

If the Phoenix wanted to lie about Krishna to increase the gates they would have included him in the press release not rely on people not connected to the team to get the word out.

Ryan, sometimes I think you give this club more credit than what is warranted. They have an appalling track record in many areas.

Even if you somehow accept that the Fiji FA CEO would for some reason lie to get a couple of extra people through the gate for a club in another country. Doing so to the Fiji times doesn’t seem the most efficient way to get people in Wellington to read it....

Probably, but I choose to believe that they make mistakes rather than intentionally and meliciously try and screw with us.

Incompetent is a word I would use.

You've just summed up the entire Stuff website in one sentence!

Sure, but incompetence is quite different from lying.

If his jock-strap is tied on with sticky yellow tape, he's definitely a dodgy Aussie.

If the game gets too boring tonight (maybe if we're getting a hiding), YF could always break into a timely chant (to Yellow Submarine):

'Aussie teams love to tamper with their balls, tamper with their balls, tamper with their balls.'

(OR)

'Aussies cheat 'cos they tamper with their balls, tamper with their balls, tamper with their balls.'

Might get a rise out of the Sky commentators.

Rogerson-Patterson-Burns is very, very weak; backline looks OK

yeah I would be inclined to start Krishna even if it’s for 45. Patterson and Rogerson alarm me.

No McGarry (bench)?

I'd rather have him for the final 45, he'd open the tired opposition wide. McGarry I'm not too sure on, I heard attitude problems when Darije was here?

Personally can't wait for Ebbinge, lad looks quality
