In response to all the angst on the way: great character by MOSSY my hero, and the rest of the team, to grind out a draw by a team which had much the better of the second half. Looking forward to Ernie's thoughts on this.

More points dropped.  Well played Mossy MOTM by a mile.   That penalty miss cost us the points

Hicks or Boyd would've scored...

I can't help but feel that, while Moss made a lot of saves, if he had organised the defense better (à la Paston) he wouldn't have had to make them in the first place.

270 minutes and no goals, bad time of the season to stop scoring.

Some average stuff from Krishna, McGlinchey just turns backwards and loses the ball when he gets it. Burns wasn't bad but that penalty was a true shocker.

I actually thought he had half a chance with the one chance he had if that makes sense.

Three for me, and two for them.

He did. Was hoping I'd be eating my words!

Point remains though, making a sub with 2 mins to go is a strange decision.

Penalty miss cost us the game.  Had we gone in 1 up at the break i feel we would have had more space in the attacking third and would have scored again.

Yep, some very nice football in patches from both teams but a lot of swearing and groaning from me. Probably lucky overall to get a point.

Because we were just happy to escape with the point and wanted to slow things down.

That was pretty sharkhouse. Dunno if we'll go anywhere in the finals unless we find our mojo in the next couple weeks

I honestly think when siggy comes in we would be better off playing fenton on the left and boxy on the right and ditching manny, nothing against manny but he is clearly off form right now

He seemed to offer a bit of muscle and something slightly different in the 3 seconds he had on the pitch.

Muscat can't pass, can't tackle without fouling, and is out of position almost all the time. Left back required next season please.

One thing that disappointed me was the amount of 50/50 balls we seemed to be losing in the midfield at the end there. Thats not a skill thing, thats just wanting the ball more than your opponent. You'd think we would want it more considering we are fighting for top of the league but meh

Muscat and Krishna both forgot how to play football today. Even Burns and Bonevacia weren't any good. Fenton Dura Riera and Moss were decent though

Fuck this stupid game

Aside from Moss that game was short on quality - some poor first touches, dumb fouls and inaccurate passing.

Muscat looks off the pace (has all season) and McGlinchy lacks composure.

The result locks in a home playoff game (assuming Perth's) appeal is unsuccessful. The way things are shaping up it will be against Roar or City. I'd be nervous about the Roar but confident about City.

Could sneak 2nd but will need to be a lot better than tonight to win the last 2 games.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

How many offsides in this game. I think at least a dozen at a minimum. Strikers need a massive boot in the ass for that.

How shark was the penalty for Burns. He owes at least a keg for that. Thats unforgivable.

How good was Moss today. If he is not the best keeper in the league this year, please name a better one.

How sharkhouse was Manny today. I would have dragged his ass at half time.

Why don't we just welly it. When the ball bounces in the box in a dangerous position, we seem to want to try play out and I had a couple of heart attack moments there.

Just the immediate thoughts that came to mind in probably the most frustrating game of the season, even more so than CCM at Eden Park.

Personally, I would sit Manny on the bench next week. He drifted out of position so often that he was a liability for us at LB. Sure he gets forward but then lays it off and runs past to the opposition offside line. If Manny had a goal scoring touch, I could get it but we lose the ball and he is absolutely nowhere leaving us so badly exposed. The amount of times I screamed at him to look at the man behind him, next to him or the space was unbelievable.

I do wonder the difference Sigmund will make next week. I hope Moss recovers for it too.

How do you determine that we should have won? Sure we missed a penalty but  if you add up all their chances they should have scored 3.

Strange sort of game.....frustrating but really enjoyable to watch.

The positives....Glenn Moss...MOTM easily. Kept us in the game. Also we are on 43 points...one point off the top with two home games to go. 100% sure now of a top 4 finish...which was the goal set from the beginning of the season.

Other positives., How good is it to have Riera back. Also Fenton now has a really good grasp on how to play RB. He was really good tonight. Muscat by comparison looked like a player from another era....too slow, too inaccurate. Boxall looked OK at CB. Should fill OK when Siggy retires.

Negatives. We are missing the dynamism of early in the season. We can;t expect Burns to dribble through the opposition from a static start. Our attack needs to be quicker and more direct. City got plenty of defenders into the box...when this happens we seem to have no idea how to counter.

We are not at 100% but are in a nice position with two rounds to go. Other top sides are under performing as well as the pressure goes on. We could top the League or finish fourth....still lots to play for in the last two rounds

Yeah considering the chances they had, a draw is an accurate result. Its frustrating cause we had a gimme and slotted it like Diana Ross in '94

We could've had 2-3 before half time.

Say What, you cant be serious. So its Mossys fault that he was required to save our butts numerous times.Just confirms that us football fans sure do see the same game in way to many ways at times. Wonder who is at fault for us going 3 games without scoring.

Is there something in the Phoenix induction pack that explains that you must leave any set piece skill behind at your previous club?  A DVD perhaps, or maybe just a paragraph in the welcome letter......
