Where are people watching tonight, are people going to the pub? There was a split last time between some at Bethel and some at Kings

Ernie is playing dead for the Australian media....our mid field is awesome and we know it.

Also could be that they have another couple of gears in them. Burns certainly thinks that they are not performing to the level that they could:

Or all part of a campaign to what... put the Victory on their guard?

Heads up - Football Central have 20% off Phoenix gear online only until kickoff tonight. Going to get my first home shirt for $80.

the misunderestimation by victory of our midfield speed and quality (especially in winning the ball for rapid fire distribution on the counter) will be the key to winning this one - perhaps taking some focus off either side of our defence where the victory (kosta) could tear us apart?

Ignoring the fact that Cunningham hasn't actually got a proper run this season yet, of course. I don't think it's a case of Cunningham underperforming - he hasn't had a chance to perform ffs, so all we have to go off is last seasons form; which was good overall - it's more a case of Burns and weeMac both being undroppable and Cunningham not being a central striker to replace Brockie.

I have no problem with what you are saying at all however we are then back to these random calls of 'so and so needs a run' and 'its not fair that he has not had a turn'. I think people place far too much emphasis on whether or not he/she has had a fair chance to show their wares. We had it last year with Ridenton and then the calls for Totori and others years prior along with the usual 'Clapham for nix' calls. I've never had a run in the Phoenix to show what I can do. Its not fair and they'll never know if I could be the greatest player they ever had. Its a professional football club, not a league where someone gets a fair shot. You turn up and do your job. The end.

How do you get play? You earn you way onto the bench via training and being ready? How do you get to start? When you get your 5-10-15 mins off the bench, you show everything you have an impress by showing you deserve more or at least better than the guy in your spot. On that measure alone, Cunningham does not deserve to start cause in the time he has had, he has not shown much to say he deserves more. I respect some people don't come out firing off the bench and as much as Pav was a mad cunt, you can not deny he came off the bench dialled up to breaking point.

The reality is, if they were lighting it up on the training paddock and now they have the full 90 in the ASBP, a league in which he should stand out head and shoulders (he didn't from accounts on here) then they deserve to get picked.  Invariably if it looks like duck and walks like a duck, its a duck and in the case of Kenny, its not because he has not had a fair go. Its that he is showing anything to warrant more with what little he has had. By the same token there is the 80/20 rule and I think Kenny is definitely in the 80% this applies to and not the 20% that is does not. Ifill was in the 20%. He just turned up and played regardless of how much time he got and he stood out to the point where we were forced to pick him when he was injured or not fit.

We have enough depth and players that are performing to not have to persevere with players that need time to warm into the game especially when your role as a sub/cameo, is to inject yourself straight away. Especially a guy with his pace and pedigree running at tired legs. The fact of the matter is that with his pedigree and history of performance last year, he should stand out when he comes on and he has not.

i wasnt even advocating for him to start; only not to be judged as there is nothing to judge him on either way this season yet.

if this new Ernie era is to be tested anywhere, then this is the game. We are up against (IMO) the best team in the league, it doesnt matter if they are full strength or understrength, we need to put them away! If we want to be taken seriously this season, here is our best chance.

from what I saw Sunday I'd judge Boyd to be a better bet than KC to break into the first team squad going on determination and ability.

Does anyone have a reliable stream for this game? I don't have Sky. Last year while I travelled I subscribed to Live Sports tv but quit at the end of the season as they kept blocking my IP address even though I was in countries where they assured me I would be able to watch the A-league

Tonights game plan? Plan for the worst, hope for the best. This may be a great opportunity for us to get something out of this game but going on history I not expecting anything.

If your looking for a stream head to wiziwig.tv  Bookmark it.

There will be a list of links to streams but if you want higher quality check out some of their documentation on torrent streaming.

If you download a program like Ace Player you can get a stream about four times the quality of the regular flash streams.

Links and tutorials are all on the site.

Stream links will be here in about an half an hour.

fenton starting . Doyle on the bench . What ever you say this is not a vote of confidence from ernie for the all whites left back

Lia on for Brockie and Fenton on for Doyle.

Bench sees Krishna and Riddenton on the wood for Cunningham and Boxall.

Counter Attack. Burns, lone striker.

Personally I would've been more happy with Doyle than Fenton.

Permalink Permalink

A bit more defensive. Fenton a bit more forward power than Doyle. Brockie on for Lia against tiered Victory legs. Manny against Kosta.

Well that was out of left field. One scape goat for the other I guess.

i think that is an odd starting line up. I cant see how Fenton is better than Doyle, he has never shown to be as a good defender as Dolye in any outing. And starting Lia, just seems a step backwards. but in ernie we trust....

If we are going to bring someone on against tired legs Krishna seems like a better option than Brockie.

One scapegoat out and another in. I like Burns being central but that is very high for Roly to play. The bench makes a lot more sense now we have seen that Brockie isn't starting.

Louis better on attack and less likely to make a mistake and give away possession. Lia ? I guess we are packing the midfield

The whole thing kicked off cos I said that Kenny was unlucky after being one of our best last season, not that he should be starting this season. Still...
