i think that is an odd starting line up. I cant see how Fenton is better than Doyle, he has never shown to be as a good defender as Doyle in any outing. And starting Lia, just seems a step backwards. but in ernie we trust....
Lia, Gorrin, and Riera in the middle - good luck Melbourne getting past that lot/
Im not sure Fenton v Doyle is gonna make a lot of difference, but if we are tight in midfield then Fenton will offer more going forward.

The difference between 4-3-3 and 4-5-1 is just semantics for me. Whether you call your wingers attacking or midfield players they will probably play the same way.

i think fenton is in over doyle because he is quicker aswell to match their pace upfront

If we had wingers I would agree re the formation....in Burns we do but not Weemac or Roly..so its a hold them with 5 in the middle then counter attack fast. Very strange with Roly but again it was foreshadowed in the media this morning...

Manny to the left to handle Kosta, Lia in to help handle the best attack in the league, Fenton to provide some of the width we lose with Burns going central, the forward impetus we lose bringing in Lia and so we have a natural right back.
All makes sense, in Ernie I trust.
