Hope Fenton's all right - especially given his bad luck with shoulder injuries..

Might have contributed to the frustration- come back twice, playing through the pain and then...

Rufer will not be dropped, atleast not yet.

This is my preferred line up. Would slot in McGing for DeVere but haven't seen much of him since FFA Cup. Phoenix would look better in this type of formation with Piscopo and Davila falling back faster to support. Defensive midfield should be more compact with Payne coming in for Rufer who has lost his boots this season (with all due respect)

This is pretty much exactly what we played against City..? (except for Payne)

I would give Payne a go at CB over DeVere.

Must have hurt it when the ball smashed into his hand ?

No we played rubbish against City. This is what we should play now as it is kind of the same as what Talay wants to play.

Are you speaking English? Have I just finally lost my marbles?

I wasn't talking about how we played, i was talking about the formation. On paper it is 4-2-2-2 but in reality Davila and Piscopo do drift wide with the two DM's holding compact in the middle.

Payne will likely be RB due to Fenton's injury. TAHW is probably worth a run over DeVere now.

If you take the starting lineup in the last game, those are probably the only changes you make plus Cacace. DeVere is not working and Talay should be able to figure that out by now. He can't do any worse than find out how the number 2 shapes up. Ball, Hooper, Davila Piscopo, Steinman and Rufer stay as is.

The only danger in the changes, is you are swapping out 3/4 of your backline. That can be unsettling (but I guess something needs to change, right?)

I think, given Fenton is out and Cacace will be returning Talay will not want to remove De Vere as well. Think he'll keep the CB pairing for now and maybe TAHW will get a shot next week?

Agree. And I think Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi is in front of McGing in the pecking order too

So how many games did the Knights go without a win, and do the YF have a celebration planned when we beat that?

The only good thing is that Nabbout and Kruse are out - so in terms of pace, we only really have Elvis to worry about.

If our DM's keep backing off against Victory then Toivonen is almost certain to score from outside the box, though.

Did Louie get a yellow card for his alleged hand ball? If not, why not? After all, a penalty was given. We all know it hit his chest. It did not deviate in it's rotation after the contact.

Next up, Phoenix opposition shoots and hits Phoenix player square on the arse, ref gives penalty for Nix player handling the ball.
