Looking forward to wearing my first home shirt to the game. Might make my first appearance at Bethel Woods after the game too so if you see a guy wander in on his own who doesn't seem to know anyone that will be me!
R5 vs Western Sydney Wanderers | Friday 7th Nov | 7:30pm | ROF
But that's the tactical approach we adopt in the way we set-up fullbacks in general - one is always more attacking than the other, don't know why it's being complained about now?
You didn't notice Manny's inability to pass the ball to weeMac? Especially that first half.
It's not complaining about the set up, it's square pegs in round holes (right full back at left back, attacking wide player at right back). However; this week I don't think we have much option but to go with the same. Boxall would be coming in too cold and it would send a poor message from Ernie to Fenton who has been mucked around for the last year.
I saw WeeMac not make a smidgeon of effort to receive the ball from anyone in the first half. We were practically playing with 10 men in the first half.
Yeah... okay. WeeMac played well in the 2 games previous with good service - ask yourself what changed between those games and the Melb Vic one? Did WeeMac suddenly turn into a player who doesn't ask for the ball? Don't think so.
I'd say the biggest change was that we went from playing the two worst teams in the league to playing one of the best - and away from at that, in a place we'd never won before.
To me it's bleeding obvious Welnix have to sign a marqee striker if this season isn't going to replicate the last 2. Anyone else?
And the answer is .... welcome back Paul Ifill.

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...
Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

so everytime we play a decent side, WeeMac won't get the ball? how depressing.

Look at who he was facing up against. Those were not the best defenders in the league.

Come and say hello. I am in a hoopy today.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Look at how the game was set up tactically, and how much attention we had to pay at the back to not get caught out by the pace of their attacking players. That certainly wasn't the concern against the Jets, for example.
Anyone have any crowd predictions? I hope we at least meet the previous two crowds. Would be great in convincing all parties concerned to move away from crappy Sunday evening games every home fixture.
Screw predictions!
Has ANYONE got any PAX?
It's like it is the paxless season...

Doyle out now with foot injury - Fenton and Manny again as fullbacks?
No other options really I guess...
"Left back Tom Doyle, whose attacking threat was badly missed against the Victory, has been ruled out again, with a foot injury. Otherwise Merrick has a full squad to pick from and any changes to Monday's defeated team will be minor.
"I won't reveal the starting XI, but we're trying to get a very mobile front three and midfielders that can get forward and control the midfield as well. So I'll continue in the same vein, but the personnel will change," he said.
Strikers Jeremy Brockie or Roy Krishna might be candidates to start and perhaps Kenny Cunningham in midfield.
Phoenix: (from) Glen Moss, Louis Fenton, Ben Sigmund, Andrew Durante (c), Manny Muscat, Albert Riera, Roly Bonevacia, Alex Rodriguez, Nathan Burns, Michael McGlinchey, Jeremy Brockie, Lewis Italiano, Michael Boxall, Matthew Ridenton, Kenny Cunningham, Vince Lia, Roy Krishna.

Was never confident about the MV game but Wanderers have just come off winning a final, travelling half way round the world and probably don't really want to play us in Wellington so soon. They also have more to lose than we do, so I reckon the TAB has it about right.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

at least i have 6 or 7 hours to get there, some bogan will pick me up and get me at least close enough to catch a train.

They still have quite a few handy players that were not registered for the ACL (Rukavytsya, Castelen etc.) so would be fresh and raring to go.

If you hold up an appropriate Nix related sign, people will respond to it better than if you were just looking lost, stripey and long-haired.
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Also keep the PAX's rolling in
unlikely given most forum members would hold tickets already?
A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen
At home I think we can cope with Fenton on the right and Muscat on the Left. We don't have enough left sided players though, I always think a team looks better with at least a couple of dominant left footers
Have we tried St. Pats for left footers?
So Phoenix have said recordings of the crowd chanting will be taken at 7.15 to be used in next Mad Max movie.Dont recall chanting 15mins before a game ever before.Or have Welnix employed rent a chant to give us a hand.
make sure David Dome gets a Thunderdome chant if he happens to be walking past
Lets go f@$king mental.....

Can someone explain the attraction of Bethel Woods; conveniently located on the Terrace, special offer on jugs, scantily clad bar staff, sky spurts, premier league pass?

Very mobile Brockie...is that an oxymoron?

Good selection of beers, craft, and mainstream sweet fizzy lagers too.
Good food.
Good location.
Pricing is good.
Music is great.
The rooftop bar is great.
The staff are VERY supportive of the Nix and the Fever. They have got right in behind #FeverDreams.
The post match functions there are easily the best I've ever been to for the Nix.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Will they have Ruka? I still have nightmares about him tearing us a new one for Perth.

Get in early for the MadMax thing.

Seriously...? I'm deliberately turning up late to avoid it.
Yep. We were asked to help so I'm spreading the word. We're like that. Helpful.
