This a really interesting and entertaining game. Makes a huge change from the ponderous old Ricki days. High intensity stuff, very few fouls, some fantastic passing, especially from us.

can anyone explain why Fenton stopped after he had beaten his defender waiting for the fucking whistle to blow? Durante set the example early in the first half when he called for a handball and just left the ball to run out in the opposition box.

I also feel like the players are fighting against this new formation. Roly is not a striker. He is struggling to make the runs required and looks buggered already.

Think we've played much better with Brockie up front and I think Mac and Burns look far more comfortable with an outlet up front to play off.

casual running all of the Ricki years into one highly negative quote. Despite all this high entertainment I'd say that Ifill and Leo at their height for us were better than WeeMac and Burns, and we've had the total of one shot on target so far today, brought to us by a guy who was signed to be a DM/RB cover. Though Louis is a lot better than Disco at RB!

some good passing and movement, no end product. No point one without the other.

Edit: maybe adjusting to the new formation. But I think we are missing out on some of Roly's impact by him being so high up the pitch. Have to wait and see if this formation is this years Huysegems and Brockie partnership or what Ernie does in the second. We've definitely contained WSW, but not had the incision you would like.

Revisionist history again. Ricki games were usually exciting ; albeit most of the times not for the right reasons!

This first half has been pretty dull for mine - lots of narrow play that goes nowhere ; how many clear chances have we actually created? That snapshot for Roly and Fentons miss of the season?

Against Newcastle CCM and even Perth for about 20 mins we played some great stuff. Not sure why Ernie has moved away from that. Very strange. To me it feels like Lia is out there purely to baby Rodriguez.

I can't be unhappy with that half, we have played nice football. Highlights how much we need a striker, when we get into that front 3rd we are all out of ideas.

Our only striker is on the fucking bench for Vinnie.

If Wsw work us out and start passing out with Spiranovic more we may struggle.

Dewhurst is just the worst: they've hooked up here, but we're not talking Tinder folks. They've just hooked their boots.

For a long time I have listened to people moaning about Dewhurst and have never taken any notice as I never listen to the commentators. Today I thought I would listen for once-- the guy is a joke. Manny is a Maltese international. He last played over 2 years ago................

Apart from that this guy is not good.

Maybe you should just fuck off all together then? You're a nothing if you've just stopped turning up to games for whatever shitty self centred reason that may be. Real talk

Ernie is being conservative against what he thinks is strong opposition. I guess...Be interesting to see what he does from here on in.

I'm not having a crack at Ricki but you'd have to be blind not to see that the style of football Ernie has us playing is much more entertaining than the bang-it-into-the-box-and-hope game plan.

We really lack creativity. Someone to just have a go at beating a defender or two and having a crack.

I agree for the most part ; not these last two games with Lia back in the team however

Well, I won't quibble ponderously, but I do remember some stunning displays from Ernie teams last season and there have almost been moments of us stringing passes together. But there hasn't been pace on attack, or one touch football much yet this game. Our best move came from Lia beating his man down the wing and then playing it back in for Louis I think...Burns beat a guy then lay down, McG hasn't done much yet, Manny hasn't been able to attack down the left effectively. We haven't been moving the ball as quickly and crisply as we are capable of, perhaps something to do with the surface?

I can see what he has been trying to do, but this hasn't been the day to say: look at the Phoenix joga bonito just yet...

AJ - I have my reasons, main one of which was the entertainment factor isn't there there is no creativity and the games had become boring ( granted this year has appeared better form the comfort of the sofa)

I post on this site for the same reason 99% of people do, because I LOVE this club no matter how shit we may be.

Why you're even here is beyond me. As far as the clubs concerned I'm of far more value and authority than you are, horsedick
