We are fudgeed! WSW was more a mess back then than they are now compared to us being the shambles.

I think part of the problem is that every game now is a milestone game for Dura and we know how shark we are at winning milestone games. We only have two solutions:

a) bench Dura; or

b) stop mentioning milestone games ever again.

I vote for option B.

Hey, some good news for Sunday's game:

Wanderer's win over City in the Y-League final on the weekend had a silver lining for the Nix - well-performing young centre-back Jonathan Aspropotamitis now out for the season after sustaining a bad injury in the final:

 https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/football/a...

"...leaving coach Josep Gombau with just two first-choice centre backs for the remainder of this A-League campaign. In the wake of the departure for Malaysia of erstwhile captain Robbie Cornthwaite, Gombau has only Michael Thwaite and Brendon Hamill and it’s understood the club will seek to sign a temporary replacement for Aspropotamitis as cover for Thwaite and Hamill.

Gombau has already been forced to use left back Jack Clisby as an emergency centre back when Aspropotamitis was away with the Olyroos, but the only players free to sign now that the transfer window has closed are those who were already free agents."

The youth team captain is also not an option as he's out injured and Aspropotamitis was filling in for him in the final.

Coach Gombau and Oriel Riera also had a falling-out early in last weekend's A-League match vs. Mariners:

"Gombau had an open argument with striker Oriol Riera over the marquee man’s tactical positioning, and Gombau had to be talked out of substituting him in the first quarter hour...."

Clearly, we're gonna get dicked.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

In an ideal world Doyle, Krishna, Kalu back.  Not losing Rossi and Ridenton injured during the game. Should make us a bit better than last week (Rossi debateable).

If only we could swap Parkhouse and Galloway for Jack-Henry Sinclair and Justin Gulley and we'd have a passable squad and bench.

I have always hoped that he would be a dick and not let the commentators just called him Aspro. I'm sure Slater would butcher his name spectacularly.

Smiths distribution is good, so he would do well there ! ;)

Kaludjerovic, Monty, Singh and Krishna all in. Rossi "omitted". No sign of Flappy.

Wonder if Rossi is still injured though - they used "omitted" for Singh's injury last week.

Would have thought (hoped) Velaphi would have started. Not even in squad.

is he signed as third keeper for the remainder of the season? Very useful. Hardly worth him coming to Wellington at all, he could commute between oz and Auckland.

The squad feels a little like last years atm - top heavy with players in the front 3.

I wonder if young Liberto did enough to keep his spot in the team?

Should give him a chance at LB instead of having to play Galloway.

Well there seems to be an absence of a certain ornithological piece: a headline regarding mass awareness of a certain avian variety...

If we're going down it would be nice if someone could just break Santalab in half late.  I'd even take a loss if the end result was at the least season ending.
