I think Ernie should be able to outfox Lowe.

Lowe has said that they don't analyse other teams, or do any specific preparation for them.

You surely don't believe that?

I'm also interested why you think Ernie should be able to outfox Lowe.

Scoring goals isn't Brockie's only job though. Playing in the middle ofthe front 3 he's there to help build attacks, to draw defenders out of position, to hold up the ball while others make runs. I think he did all that well in the first few games. Also, it's about the balance of the side - it allows Roly to play deeper, where he looked more comfortable, and gets Burns and WeeMac able to link up with the rest of the team or drift wider if required, which then takes pressure off our fullbacks as well. I just think we looked like abetter team when we played that way.

Ok I am over simplifying it. He does bring more to the table and when he came on as a sub, it changed things up for us. We still need him to be mindful of what his *main* job is though

If playing him up front instead of say, Lia, in midfield means the team as a whole plays better though isn't it a bit silly to not play him because he's not scoring goals? If our defence stays solid (and I think it would - after all it was defensive errors rather than tactical flaws which cost us in the first few games) and playing Brockie makes Burns and WeeMac more effective then we should do it.

Well he shows how much he knows of the Nix by saying that Reece Caira, who obviously only played a bit part in our defence last season, and has been released, is in a central pairing with Dura.

Why would he say something as moronic as the above, knowing that people already think of him as being to unqualified and inexperienced for the job?

He could be extremely cunning, who knows, but the consensus seems to be that Perth have a very basic game plan, which at A-League level is doing well for them.

Ernie has shown that he is happy to tinker and sets teams up for the opposition which is why I think we have a good opportunity.

Well I guess you can think what ever you want to.

Lowe has far better playing experience than Ernie, which does not always count, but I know the area of the UK he is from and they are pretty canny. Also Ernie's win % for us is 31, not that great, but Lows is 46%.

I guess we will find out on the weekend. However it will also come down to which team has the better players.

Nothing wrong with doing the basics well combined with an easy run.

Come to think of it, that is the best qualification to coach a football club. Dealing with dangerous man-eating beasts, jumping through flaming hoops, managing the clowns, sweeping out the dung - all of that is just part of the job.

By beating us, Brisbane (in the last minute), CCM, Newcastle and WSW - they have had a relatively easy run. (all at home except v us and CCM, who are piss poor)

They will drop down the table when they start losing to Victory, Sydney ; already lost to Adelaide.

Think we're on about the same level as them, should be a good game.

Yeah, Away to Perth, Away to Adelaide and Away to Victory are the games most likely to turn to crap.

I did not think JBS was that bad last week. Considering its a long time between drinks, I thought he made a decent fist of it.

I guess McGlinchey and you argue around Brockie/Krishna etc. I think that we may see the return of Brockie for Lia since we are not getting as high up that flank. Its more a reflection of tactics than what Lia has done because he has performed since he has been back. He does play that role (like he did last year in a widish right) with some solidity.

I think if I were Kenny, I'd pack my bags now. For a Costa Rican international, Krishna looks more effective than him.

Doyle is much closer to a return (maybe another week if not this week?) than Fenton (several weeks at least).

Have a look at all Perth's fixtures, they've all been really easy except when they beat us 2 1 and when they lost 2 nil to Adelaide, They're an ok side, but not near top 3.

Thats because its easier to score in Newcastle and Gosford!

I'd agree and say Perth haven't really outclassed anyone.

I can see them finishing 4th.

However our games with them are traditionally scrappy, and with our current form/tactics, a draw would be pretty good.

still think this formation sound like one where we will finish higher up the table. Seems like we were chasing a clean sheet and we got one, but missed two.

I have to be honest in that I'm not sure Ernie has got the best out of this group of midfielders and attackers yet.
