Paul Ifill was also not a striker and look how he turned out. In fact compare our striker Chris Greenacre and his record to others.

The only striker that we have had that has absolutely worked for us has been Shane Smeltz (unless I am forgetting someone)

Ifill and Brown are out top 2 goal scorers all time. #notAStriker

I'd pick Roly B to follow in similar vein. If he stays.

Wow, Fenton already.

I know, I know, its serious!

I think this fixture is a potential banana skin.

Jets are not playing at all well but are probably over due for a result. In contrast We got away with a decent result after a poor start last sunday.

Will take a draw!

Yeah, what? I thought he'd be out for the season?

Did he end up not having surgery? Bit risky, if so. Ernie must think he really adds a lot.

No, he didn't have surgery.  I just had a look at the reaction to the injury, which was nearly a month ago, and Merrick said then give it 3-4 weeks.  It has been listed as 6-7 weeks on the official injury lists as late as last week.  I didn't expect to see him in action this side of Christmas.  Maybe he will sit on the bench with a chance of a 10-15 run to build confidence? Or maybe it is a sink or swim situation now, so that if no good, surgery can be timely.

Still seems an early re-introduction.

I would put him in the weenix first. Feels strage give his lack of game time.

it might be he is gonna be one of the two excluded on match day but Ernie wants him travelling to make him know/feel how valued he is

Not so worried about Fentons fitness as i doubt Ernie would take any risk with him.Its more i think about his head space as i dont care what any one says he would have to be having some doubts about what will happen next time. Would have preferred to see him have some game time with weenix just to make sure.As you can be dammed sure his first game back whoever the opposition is he will be tested.

if you see any change, it would be a Lia A-Rod swap (I am not advocating this) as it would appear Ernie prefers Lia slightly or its a horses for courses thing regarding which one plays.

Nor as i.

Yeah we had a dreadful start against MelbC, but i'd like to think you don't change a team that wins 5-1. Tyler Boyd not in the matchday squad again, baffing really.

I find Tyler Boyd not in strange esp as he didnt play weenix last weekend (that I heard) anyone heard any rumors as to whats up??

Ahhh piss, I had it in my head that TW was 3pm Saturday, Nix was 7pm Saturday, home for a sleep, get up early drive to Napier, go to Park Island, come home.

Dammit.

A great signing for the club, but I'm still unsure if he's an attacking midfielder or a striker.
He's missed too many one on ones with the goalie
I'm looking forward to being proved wrong, as he keeps "knockin' 'em in" :-)

Maybe he will join the greats of "not a striker" ;>).

As an aside my home club's leading scorer is also "NAS"..9 goals.

I will be at Smash Palace in Chch. I know they won't show game - can someone suggest somewhere near that I can sneak out to?

Interesting.  Was convinced he was due to score a worldie or two against us.  Don't tell me that it's going to be that nice Mr Joel Griffiths that's going to do the damage.  That would be too much to bear.
