Wow what a display, truly amazing from the team
Vukovich - 7 Wasn't tested much, but made some great reflex saves
Hearfield - 7 Pushed forward well, unlucky a few times but gave us another outlet tonight
Sigmund - 8.5 Solid at the back again, almost had himself a goal too
Durante - 9 Great vision and easily won his spot back in the team
Lochhead - 8 Great return from injury and was solid and effective
Muscat - 9 Amazing DM, good vision and (mostly) great passing
Lia - 8.5 Did a great job. Was everywhere, crossing, shooting, heading.
Brown - 8 Attacked well and got involved. Very Cahill-esque
Ward - 9 Great display. Fits our systems perfect, not afraid to take on his man
Macallister - 8.5 Moved around and passed well, good finish and is a new player
Rojas - 9.5 Almost a perfect performance. Could have had a few more goals and assists too on another night
Ricki - Has found the winning formula. Gonna be very interesting to see how anyone could break into this team, including Ifill. DMac up top is a winning formula in this formation and Ward compliments Rojas perfectly. We almost didnt need the subs we had tonight. I'd almost look at dropping Daniel from the bench and bringing in Musa. But amazing display and very clinical.

Yeah, Dura missed an absolute sitter but apart from that was brilliant coming out of his line
It's hard to rate each player individually because it was such a team performance that everyone looked pretty goodvaleo2011-01-05 22:58:43

Lia down to 8, Don't get me wrong he was great tonight but 8.5 might be a but much. *may retract statement after viewing replay*
No-one lower than a 7, great effort from all involved, I rate the team together at 11!
Marshall amps go to 11 so does the phoenix!

Same squad in future and we're a genuine chance vs any other team. Hard to see North slotting back in like this unless Ricki persists with Siggy at RB.

The real test will be fielding an unchanged squad on Sunday and seeing if we can get a repeat performance.

To be honest, North can come to the bench for daniel or bertos, and I would only start looking at using him as a right back from now on.

I thought Dura had a dodgy first half...but made great strides in the second half.

Yeh fair enough ratings PWF, certainly a great all round showing. Marco, Lia, Lochie, Siggy, Macca, Manny, Ward, Dura all at their best. Best moments for me: Dura setting up Siggy for a neat shot, Marco seemingly untouchable with the ball, Mac winning his headers, Manny scything up the middle for about 50 metres, Siggy swinging a clearance out over the line and back in and the lino too busy turning to see it before it came back in. Awesome.
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

From where I was, it didn't appear the whole of the ball crossed the line... but it looked good either way

Siggy played great, he cleared a few balls out of the box that could have had Vuka in some problems.
It would be really sh*t to bring North back into the squad with the way the defence held together tonight... unless they put North at RB only.

Not seen a Nix match where it was us nutmegging the opposition so many times. I counted at least 3. Was quality to see. Last night was one of those nights where we fired and everyone went well. I dont give a rats whether or not they were missing players. So were we and we played a damn good game.
First time this season I have seen our crowd so fired up too. What's with the extra security when everyone was happy?
Excellent all round team performance!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

We wont. It doesn't mean we can't still beat CCM, though, but that kind of performance only happens at home.

Must be something about playing Victory because in the earlier game this season where we drew 2-2, we nutmegged them about 7 times. The guys behind me were keeping count.
No one has mentioned Siggys attempt on goal in the 2nd half. Brilliant 1st touch to set up the shot only to draw another brilliant stop from their keeper.

My favourite Siggy moment of the night was in the last few minutes when we were running down the clock. Ball goes out for a defensive throw in, ballboy scurries to fetch ball, "Leave it!" Siggy snarls at him, ballboy obeys instantly.

Your right, it's true, that kind of performance does only happen at home..
why??
Is it the time difference.. or . . why can't we do what we do at home ; away?
