So what conclusions can we draw from recent results? Is it
just the silly season, or does it confirm my long held suspicion
that there is no team really worthy of being crowned
champions?
CCM, Newcastle, Adelaide - organised but ultimately limited
and uninspiring. CCM seem to have retained top spot for so
long without ever really giving anyone a beating or convincing you
of their quality. Sydney have forced their way into the
equation despite being total cack for most of the season.
Queensland look to me the team most likely to win it but are also
beatable. Melbourne - from champs to chumps in the blink of
an eye.
No one has really taken the competition by the scruff of the
neck. I think it all just goes to prove that we should have
reasonably high expectations for next season with the experience of
this year behind us and a few better players.
Mind you, if the results keep going the way they have been
going we're still worth a punt for this season! With three
games to go it's still anyone's and only Perth are really out of
it. Very strange.

Agreed, all the teams seem to be hot and cold. The first half of
the season CCM was far more consistent that all the others, but
they've conceded 10 goals in their last 2 games.
I also agree about Queensland being the most likely.
I wouldn't write off Newcastle, we just got them at the perfect time with suspensions.
The defense of all teams seems to be complete sh!te but it makes for good entertainment.

there certainly seem to be some 'strange' results at the moment
perhaps a mix of the 'silly season', suspensions/injuries kicking in and a small league
also the fact that every team except Perth has something to play for might give the games a kind of cup match topsy-turviness

well, I for one am glad that one team hasn't wrapped it all up by
now. This is a comp and our team sure has a chance of having an
influence in the last three rounds. Much better than having nothing
to play for.

Yep we are definately improving. For most of the season we could
only really get results against Sydney, Melbourne and Perth (and
one lucky draw v Adelaide) but now we've got a draw (that we
should've really won) v QLD and a great win v Newcastle. It's a
great thing to take into 2008.
