In what is the only partnership of its type in the A-League, Yellow Fever will again this year fund the Retro Ricki Youth Scholarship.
The Scholarship offers one young (under 20 years) player the chance to experience life as a professional footballer. Yellow Fever provides $, transport, accommodation, and kit. The Phoenix swing in offering the lucky winner a week of training with the team pre-season 09/10.
Last year's winner, Daniel Finlay, has since kicked on to be named as part of the New Zealand Secondary Schools' team touring Europe. Well done Dan!

The Scholarship is targetted at aspiring professional players - so really looking for someone who can play.
We should point out that the age category (U20) doesn't mean they have to be 17/18/19 - feel free to nominate younger players. We can target the week's activities to suit. Any teenaged player is probably a good shout.
Shortlist will be decided by you, our faithful members. Final winner will be picked from the shortlist by Ricki, Tony, me, Feverish and News.
Massive raps to the Phoenix by the way - they're really supportive of this (and other similar) initiatives, and as Feverish points out, it's the only scheme of its kind in the League, something we (Fever) should be proud of.

He is off on a trial match in Aus for NSW in Jan where if he impressive could reap the rewards.
