rumour has it NZ U23 Captain Aaron Scott is being looked as a long term option to solve the right back problem at the phoenix, already having several seasons of national league experience behind him, the possiblity of him being converted from a well balanced, ball playing centre back, into an attack minded right full back does not seem to silly,

watch this one carefully

So he'd have to be unconverted then? Didn't somebody say that Siggy can play at full-back?Jag2008-04-22 12:23:07

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I rate Siggy as a centre back but think that he's be far too slow to play right back in the A-league.  Dodd is another who's name is always mentioned (people say he played there in ver1) but again I think he would be found out for speed.

Well I've thought Aaron Scott looks a good player at NZFC level, without being commanding.
I think Steven Old would look reasonably commmanding at NZFC level, so I would have reservations about Scott.

Siggy could do a job at right back, a lot better than steven old, and christie... Pace is definitely a weakness trying to mark Zullo etc, but strength would make up for that as Siggy is a true competitor! What happened to Rupesh Puna... He was making All Whites squads a while back... Also James Pritchard seemed to go off the boil... Any reasons why? At least that lad has genuine pace!

Boyens has been released by Toronto FC after playing 21 games for them last season.

He is currently on trial with New York Red Bulls and has played in a reserve game and a trial match and their coach Juan Carlos Osorio has had some encouraging things to say about him.
