The phoenix doesn't have a traditional rivalry

however who would our closest rivalry be?

Perth?
Gold Coast?
Sydney?

It should be Sydney because they beat us at the Ring of Dirt, ending our home record and beat us in the playoffs under dubious circumstances. We deserve revenge!

But yeah, every Australian team is a rival. Except Central Coast. We always pants them.

These things emerge under their own steam.

At this stage Gold Coast of the multiple Judae head the pack.

However, I kinda like the concept of Perth as a rival because we are the furthest competitors on a domestic league (if Vladivostok are still in Rusky league 2) and have no local rivals.

The antithesis of a local derby. The distant derby?

We won't have a proper rivalry (ie: two way) until the Christchutch Numb-nuts get accepted into the league... eta: 2016.

I'll point out that GCU fans have been desperate to beat us and on the GCUSC forums, they celebrated the 3-3 draw as if they actually won the championship. Given our reasons to hate them and their frustration over being our bunnies, I'd say it's a mutual rivalry. Yes, everyone hates GCU, but I'm guessing in terms of who they hate, we'd be very near the top. Not above Brisbane of course, but still high.
