Ross Aloisi - red card ban...?

Can anyone confirm if Ross' red card in the A-League final means he faces a ban from the first game of this season against Melbourne?  That would be a tragic loss for our first game......

If the A-League follows FIFA rules, then Aloisi's ban should begin at the start of the season.  Unfortunate, but the club knew the situation when they signed him.

I've never heard of bans carrying on from one season to the next.

As above this is a fifa rule, as I am sure this takes place in the premier league.

Will it count preseason?

Counts only competative games - usually at same grade.  For example, a player could be sent off in the Champions league one season, his club not qualify for the next ten years, and when they finally get back in - he's suspended!

League-wise - bans often carry over into the following season and from one club to another.  It's only the bookings that are cancelled out at the end of a season.

So Pre Season Cup - though competative is a different comp so the ban will only kick in in the season proper.

No sh*t. Dam that means were going to have to watch the Phoenix have a average performance, at least with Rossi in there we'd have a chance. He can hold midfield like its nobodys buisness.

Instead of a:

-Brown--Campos--Aloisi--Daniel

We'll see a:

--Ferrante--Campos--Brown--Daniel

Not as good but still its a nice line-up

Hell play! And ye thats still a good line up but i believe Ferrante will be playing in the centre with the two brazilians outside him.

Think on the bright side...it will probably be good for the teams confidence if they pick up some good results while a player of Aloisi's experience and reputation is not there. Anyway Tim Brown is a capable holding midfielder.
