if ross gets signed as it has been reported, will he be a good
candidate for the first captain of wellington, considering the
stuff that has happened? shoudl the captain be a
kiwi?robcrow2007-04-29 16:53:24
He should only be signed if he comes as a set with his brother, and
after his post final display he shouldn't be close to captain.
Brown, Christie and Lockhead to sign

I think its a fabulous signing really, hes a good player and proved
in the A-League

well said.
get ready to hear the:
"you've got the wrong aloisi" chant from all the fans in
the A-League if you do sign him.
I think he has dirtied his name now. Sure he can play but he is 34
and he IS the wrong Aloisi.
Get lost with all this wrong Aloisi crap. He is good enough for the
A-League, and if you're judging him on 1 match where the whole team
lost the plot, not just him, then you're bloody stupid. Hes
captained a side to the final, very good job.

Hell no. We're claiming it as our own. Altogether lads... Wrong Aloisi, we've got the wrong Aloisi
i agree with Nembo ross aloisi would be a great signing with his
experience in the first two seasons in the a-league, and he has
proven to be good enough! ok he lost the plot a little in the final
but he would be a great addition to the squad because of his
experience, but not as captain!
aloisi please sign!

get him on board. he has a heap of experience and has represented
auatralia several times. class player who was only cut
because of the poisonous atmosphere at adelaide.
a dead cert for captain. htre are no serious nz
candidates. the only kiwi i'd consider is covs and he won't
be starting every game (if we're going to be any good)

Absolutely, we need quality at this stage and he definitely has it. A bit of an attitude too which if channeled right will do us well in the middle of the park.
If news is right and we have a Brazilian playmaker, then Aloisi could be the perfect foil.
As for captain, Adelaide seemed to self distruct and with Kosmina going too, it seemed to be more than just one person, so he could be a good candidate.
Cheers

Nembo aint getting it. HIS sh*tE
you need all the players you can get wrong aloisi is better than no

Yeah he'll be a good solid performer - rather him than Plodder in
that role.

It would be brilliant to get Aloisi. Not as captain tho, there has
to be a kiwi in captain, e.g. vicelic, brown or coveny.

Better than Archie

Someone in Adelaide who is acting like they are 'in the know' says
he's not interested in leaving Adelaide. Reckoins he is
putting his family first.
John Aloisi said he would like to join the HAL when he finishes his contract in spain - it is one of his dreams to play with his brother. For the moment won't join Adelaide becuase of the way his brother was treated by AU. He did leave it open mentioning he could happen but not in the near future.
If you guys get Ross you get a shot at Johnny!

Do you have a web source?
Nembo does not get it.
Is there a source for that story by adelaide news?
Having a chant about having the wrong Aloisi makes signing him worthwhile. Sign him up now.

Aloisi signs for Phoenix
<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->
ROSS Aloisi, the former Australia striker and last season's
Adelaide United captain, is linking up with the new Wellington
Phoenix A-League franchise.
The club is scheduled to unveil its first signings today, and The Dominion Post reports that the ageing Aloisi will be among them.
A controversial figure in the A-league last season, Aloisi was spotted in Wellington yesterday, the newspaper reports.
He made five appearances for the Socceroos, the last in 1999 against Manchester United, and spent 10 seasons playing in Switzerland, France, Italy, Austria and Malaysia.
Last year the 34-year-old led Adelaide to the A-League grand final, but left the club he had served since 1990 under a cloud.
Aloisi was sent-off during the 6-0 grand final loss to Melbourne Victory, and was one of four Adelaide players to make a humble public apology after the match.
His post-match comments, directed at match officials, drew widespread criticism and the saga led to his ignominious "retirement" from the club and the resignation of Adelaide coach John Kosmina.

if you guys are gonna settle for second rate players, then i
dont see you progressing in the A-League
'you've got the wrong aloisi......'
Aloisi scores in the first 10 minutes.....
♫"He's not the wrong Aloisi"
good first signings.........i reckon aloisi has been promised the
captains position....
He really impressed me at the press conference. He promised nothing
less than 100% from him and the rest of the team. I think he will
like it here and perform well.

I'm happy that you guys have a such a positive outlook on the team
and the future. Such a great thing and missing in the a-league. You
guys better make the WRONG ALOISI chant now and be proud of it. If
you do this then the 'others' cannot pay you out. I hope he
puts in his best for you guys.
