Hi all,

Hoping to get to our first Wellington Phoenix game this weekend. I believe the rules for cameras and lenses are up to 200mm lenses are allowed, right? Would really be annoying if we missed the game due to not being able to get in with my camera, but I'd love to bring it to get some pics of the game/stadium etc.

I'd looked at that, but the lens part was unclear.

They say you can tell a lot about a man and the size of his lens. On a serious note, I too have brought in camera gear and they were all good with it. 200mm zoom lens an all.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I've taken my camera loads of times with 300mm lens. They've searched my camera bag and never asked anything about it. All good.

Gah, all it people having no problems with photography cameras. The one time I took the Fever video camera into the Zone to film a tifo I got swarmed by red badge and had to convince them that I wasn't doing it for commercial purposes, which was fruitless because they didn't know their own rules. They said it didn't matter if I was commercial or not, you can't take certain video cameras into the stadium.

Only time I've ever had a problem taking my camera into a stadium anywhere in the world was at... Wait for it... North Harbour Stadium for an ASB Premiership game! They opened up my bag and said I couldn't have it. Luckily I had a media pass on me so was able to flash tgat and make the problem go away. I guess it depends on who is on duty, whether they actually know the rules, and how high their sense of their own importance is...

Yea, see I've had that media pass for the ASB Premiership games too, so I never had to give the camera a second thought. Judging by most peoples' experiences here, I should be ok with my 18-200 mm lens.
