As you can see from the news item, there will be a number of players at the YFSLP on Saturday night.

http://www.yellowfever.co.nz/show-news.asp?ID=694

These are the rules that are in place if you find yourself talking to a player:

  • no inviting them to a Tequila drinking competition
  • no hugging them and saying "yoush me besh mate"
  • no trying to set them up with your wife/girlfriend while you video it all
  • no telling them that you played for an under 12 rep team, and that you'd be with the nix if you kept at it
  • no asking them to pull your finger
  • no tickling

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

If none of them will pull my finger can I still fart. In a crowded room I'm sure I could get away with dropping one

  • no inviting them to a Tequila drinking competition

If anyone insists on doing so, feel free to invite *me* to a tequila drinking competition instead. Close enough. Because, you know, I played for an under 12 rep team and if I had just kept at it...

If by "must-see" you mean "must-check-the-score-online-after-the-hangover-from-the-launch-party-subsides" then I agree.

As much as I love league (I grew up in rural NSW), the Launch Party trumps all.

(That, and maybe I subconsciously don't want to see my Raiders lose haha)

I'll try and control myself when around the players, but can promise anything, esp after a few to many beers.

I think the big screen will be down but showing highlights of the 82 world cup.

I happen to agree with bopman... warriors are most definitely must-see at the moment. Come on Ubergunner, I'm a gooner too... be a sport!

The Bencher's a football bar now, one of how many in the country?

If league is more important to you than free beer that's fine (it might even be noble - I hope most of us would give up the drink before we gave up football).

But if watching league is more important than watching and talking football, then you might just be out of luck on Saturday- coz surely that's what the Bencher's all about on YF nights.

Damn straight. You dont know how long ive been waiting to talk sports on a friday night at the Pub without someone saying "did you watch the hurricanes" instead id rather listen to "did you see that goal from the (insert favourite team) vs (least favourite team) match" working with a spurs and a norwich city fan leaves the conversation a bit flat sometimes. according to  OSH you should'nt let the spurs fan go to the bog unless you've taken his shoe laces off him
