Heard an interesting thing on the radio today they were talking to someone about season membership for the warriors for next season and it might explain why they have a good uptake of season membership.

Apparently the club had started phoning this seasons members about renewing for next season, and a couple of players had come in  of their own accord  to also make some calls.Maybe the Phoenix could learn some lessons from them about being proactive in this area instead of sitting back. There's a thought employ me and i can start at season one with those who never renewed.

Hibs  do this sort of thing too - if people don't renew within the renewal period someone from the ticket office phones them to ask why!

Do Phoenix send out renewal forms as well? Or do people have to pick them up / go online to renew?

Let's hear it for Steve-O's 5000th mention of Hibs on the Wellington Phoenix website

If it was Ticketec, they'd probably ring the wrong number anyway.......

Stuff calling people up - send the heavies around with a form and explain to people that they've 'forgotten' to sign up, but they can renew then and there if they'd just fill out this form...

Or do the obvious and have slight discounts for renewing a membership early - this helps ticketek because it gets a whole bunch out of the way very early on.

Addicks, they did do that. It was $40 cheaper (I think) if you renewed before  a certain date.

Its no longer a problem.

Ah.  Must have been obvious then for them to have done so.  I haven't had a membership before this year so I didn't know.

So the next step would be to phone members as a reminder, and to tell them about the discount...(and in reality, it's not just letting them know but the fact of the follow up and the chance to renew then & there that makes it effective).

I think it would be a good idea to call people.
All you need to do is hire a few people to do it, and there aren't really that many people to ring (Sadly)

I dunno, thats quite a few people to call. I still think its a good idea though, loved the idea of the players calling a few!

Subliminal messages, Steve-O. That's the way to go.

I know that when the AFL Clubs are on Membership and Sponsorship drives at the beginning of every season they make the players answer the phones. People then get all excited when they get to speak to one of their heroes from the club they support and they gladly part with their money!

Not a bad marketing innitiative!

Phoenix do send out forms. Also I renewed quite late and a few weeks before the season and before I renewed I had a phone call asking why.

Cheers for that, I am sure they will have you sorted in no time next season as well.  And yes forms are sent out and as many as possible phone calls are made to non renewers.
