have people said who we should actually rank above in the two survey question results?
I only know of Newcastle pitch looking sh*t, and Syndey used to be but looks like it has been redone.
Atmo wise I think Hindmarsh seems a bit crap. Brisi have lifted their game I think. Adelaidea bit sh*t?

I don't get why they take the rating from the opposing capts? surely they'd just get the capt of both teams to complete their ratings of the pitch conditions after the game. they could rate the ref, pitch atmosphere in three easy tick boxes after the game, FFA simply takes an average of all the scores over the season. Fairest way.

Well, we only fill about 25% of the stadium, the crowd is a long way from the pitch, hardly any away fans to spice things up...

With the pitch on the 3 rating categories Westpac is only rated low on pace of the pitch, otherwise Westpac is up there with the best.

Yes 9th poor reading skills Clast as . But as it is rated by players the YF must be intimidating to them. Even at away games it's not hard for YF to out do the locals.

Just to clear something up, the opposing captains do not rate the supporters at the ground. They rate the overall atmosphere at the stadium, and I think all of the empty seats on the other side of the stadium is what gets us the low score.

In architecture and spatial design, Atmosphere refers to the sensorial qualities that a space emits. Atmosphere is an immediate form of physical perception, and is recognised through emotional sensibility. Architects and designers use the notion of atmosphere to argue that architecture and space is designed and built for people to use and experience. Peter Zumthor in his book Atmospheres[1] constitutes architectural atmospheres as "this singular density and mood, this feeling of presence, well-being, harmony, beauty...under whose spell I experience what I otherwise would not experience in precisely this way".

The playing surface at AAMI Park was recognised as number one in the 2012/13 PFA Pitch Rating System for the second season running, just ahead of Etihad Stadium and Parramatta Stadium respectively.

Whilst the players acknowledged the impressive playing surface at AAMI Park, the assessment of the players was that the quality of the pitches on average in the A-League fell slightly in comparison with the previous season.

The atmosphere created by the Melbourne Victory supporters group Blue and White Brigade also made it consecutive honours when they narrowly edged out the Western Sydney Wanderers Red and Black Bloc as the best in the competition. The ratings by the players showed a significant improvement in the atmosphere at A-League matches on average across the competition in comparison to last season.

Melbourne Victory Captain Adrian Leijer said the recognition for the Blue and White Brigade was a reward for the electric atmosphere they create at their home matches.

"For years our fans have been the benchmark when it comes to support in the stands across the A-League, and as players, we certainly feel that it gives us an edge over our opponents.

"We know our fans will also take their support to another level in the coming seasons, now that Western Sydney's Red and Black Bloc are on the rise, and we can't wait to see it again when we take to the pitch."

On receiving the players’ award for best atmosphere the Blue and White Brigade’s Adam Tenneni said: “Like the club as a whole, the North and South Terraces of MVFC are something that we look at with a lot of pride in what we’ve achieved over eight seasons. There is enormous effort that goes into match day and behind the scenes by a lot of people, so this award is for all Victory fans. To support your club is not about accolades like this however, to be voted the best by the A-League players is a prestigious honour and we’re very proud to still be recognised as the best having won this award now in consecutive years”.

Other stadiums dont have that massive area cordoned off though. Even if we have 15,000 turn up we're still going to have that unsightly empty area where we're just not allowed to sit.

Like has been said before, it's because of the 25,000 seats in the stadium that are empty, rather than the Fever being the worst in the league. 7k at a Nix game still shits all over 20k at a Hurricanes game in terms of atmosphere.

Pitch always looks a picture, despite the weather and sport schedule. Are the pitches in Aussie sand based? Could that be a factor in the low hardness rating?

Off topic, but how damp was the grass for the AFL? Was shocked it see it reported as "boggy".
