I haven't noticed, so probably not, but if I did notice, I would most definitely get the bash (attempted)

Ive spoken to Frank Farina a few times and he tells me whilst he was in charge of the Socceroos Ahmad was the guy he enjoyed working with most, remember Ahmad was slowly becoming a regular and bret emerton was being brought down the pecking order. Ill never forget the day Ahmad scored against Iraq with his first touch after not having playing football for 8 months.

Ahmad is actaully a greeat player and he will sign again but under the salary cap.
He hasent been up to scratch this season but so has ronaldinho but maybe next season he will be on fire. He is prob having a dip in form and deserves another chance.

Yea, he's had too long now. They're professional players for crying out loud. This is their day gig. They train and play every day. No excuse for such a long period of losing form or not being able to get fit. Needs to toughen up. Sick of pansy excuses for this. Get someone else that will do the job. If he re-gains his form/fitness/mantra/whatever one day, good luck to him, but there comes a time to step up to the mark. If you can't do that successfully, then you've failed.

Next marquee player please..........

I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. But time and time again he proves he's up to nought.

Move him on imo.

Another f**king shocker last night. Time to cut our losses and get rid of him.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Yes for Elrich - He was on sitting on the plane back from Sydney next to my 6 year old son. He spoke with him the entire trip and got signitures from the rest of the nix team. Top bloke. My son adores the nix so players being approacable like Elrich is a great thing. Give him another season I reckon.

I've changed my mind - raise his salary.

Isn't it funny that had Elrich scored a similar goal as the one against CCM, in the last minute of the last match of the season to get us into the Top Four he'd be an instant hero.

Red Devil has hit the nail on the head. Profressional football isn't all about what happens on the pitch. From all reports Ahmad Elrich has been passing on his experience and skill to the younger guys in the squad which can only be a good thing.

Also you need to remember that he has returned from a long term injury.

Sign him up again, get him fully fit and ready to go in Round One next year and then we can all watch and enjoy a quality footballer doing what he does best!!!

To be fair to Elrich, he probably is a character guy and a good for the team environment, but then again so could Steven Old, or Frankie Mac or Jag or Lonegunman or me, but we ain't getting picked because we can't play!

The point of it all is thats its whats on the park that counts. The performance. It not personal because on the park, I'm not fit to tie his shoelaces.. If you want a character guy to teach the young guys then sign a Neil Emblem/Darren Bazely type player. Older and past their prime, comes in cheap with experience, happy not to get minutes and we don't expect the earth from them. Marquee title has a stigma of being better than the others (yes I can hear Mario Jardel before others speak up) but I'm struggling to see that. Granted he has been injured but he has had how long to get back into it now? Since Labour weekend? Thats 2 and a bit months of solid training and quality minutes on the park.

He has got touches and they are evident on occasions, just its not working here in Wellington.

The biggest swet he raised last night was running out onto the pitch. Off the pitch he might be a very nice guy. He has the ability, time he used it and pushed himself. Needs to work on his crossing and beating his man. He does have a decent pace when he wants to use it. I just feel he's been cruising along rather than giving 110% like someone like Felipe. I am finding Elrich a very frustrating player to watch. You want him to do well but he just isn't performing. Lonegunmen2008-01-12 17:05:25

yes, but probably not as marque player. i suppose if he gets more time with the team, especially pre season training then he could be quite an asset. any ideas on who else we could get as a marque player?

Latest news...

I've been talking to a Perth fan and he reckons they'll swap Ahmad for no-Neck Lazaridis if we throw in 2 dozen L & P.

I'm seeing it as a tough call.

How's my driving? - Whine here
