Question, a while back I was told that 600 Ricki Retro shirts had been sold. Can anyone give us an updated figure on this? They're seen everywhere around Wellington now!

Also I noticed at the official shop at the Stadium some new shirts, the $65 one looked quite nice.

Richard at Champs is now as rich as Terry thanks  to the retro shirts

last I heard, he and Jamie had retired and were living on a beach in Thailand together

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

I'm sure they would love to where a phoenix shirt, but unless you are a 12 yr old, you cant buy the shirts for love or money until the next shipment arrives in Oct.

You are kidding me? That in this day and age of global marketing that we have to wait another 2-6 weeks to buy a shirt even though there is an obvious immediate, (and future), demand? Seems like somebody messed up when picking the manufacturers. I'm glad I've already got mine.

The club didn't have a choice in the manufacturer's. Reebok are the kit suppliers to all the A-League teams.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I spoke to the poeple in the Phoenix store, and they told me that Reebok based there stock on the Knights' sales over the last 2 years (silly move). That is why they are out of stock, also the Away shirt is not out untill November, what a bummer, they wont do that mistake again.

I own a Phoenix shirt, a BB Nix my Pint shirt and a Retro Ricki - I wear my Retro Ricki to games cos I support the Phoenix mad as but also want to show my support for the Yellow Fever boys and their great work in leading the way and getting everyone together and organized........plus the masses of yellow in the zone looks brilliant!!!!

I wear my other two at various other times during evenings and the weekend cos I love how they spark mad football conversations with complete strangers.....

There were heaps of Phoenix strips for sale at the game, so presumably they were in the shop.
Similar to the official strip, except they had 'Phoenix' written in black-on-yellow background halfway up.
A lot cheaper than the $130 or so you pay for the official one ..

I got that one myself, only $60, bargain and it has the officail badge and A league logo too.

I reckon if we all send letters to Santa we should have the official shirts, home an away, in good time for the play-offs

and yes, there seems to be a variety of reasonably priced Phoenix t shirts in the shop at the ground. Shame the one in the city couldn't open a little later on (7pm kick off) matchdays though - out of towners may (and we arrived too late at 5) want to pay it a visit before the game (or maybe, like the Monty Python cheese shop, they don't actually have any stock now).

I always thought they looked too sinister - black with red swastika type armbands - as if they shoud be complimented by high leather boots and peaked caps!

Nah was talking to the top man that manages the shop on Sat  night (he comes and joins us for parts of each game) and apparently its all a little too expensive for them to sort and pass onto punters.

We'll just have to get this option arranged for ourselves so people should start asking around and getting some pricing....?

Yes

$25 for a name and number(any number) heat set onto your jersey.

(Price includes insurance buffer against us setting your jersey on fire in the process and having to replace it)

We cant use the official Reebok A-League numbers due to copyright. But weve sussed out some pretty snazzy styles. Takes about 4 working days to get names and numbers ordered in.

Will Champs put a "Cantona" on my 1994 Man U shirt?  Hopefully for free for the privilege of touching such a wonder.  The upturned collar, the sardines behind the fishing trawler, the golden age of Man U - we could even score more than one goal a game.....

I would imagine so.  Big call to invest in a whole new strip for one match.

However, if some bright individuals (let's call them Rellow Fever) came up with a t-shirt design that was appropriate for All Whites games, well then you'd have a reasonable priced option.

(Watch this space).

note from Coops at Nix store..

1.       The WPFC Home Shirt is due back into stock in November but there is chance we will receive some into stock at the end of October. We are relying on Reebok to supply us with our order and have requested that the November delivery be brought forward and received by us ASAP.

2.       The WPFC Away shirt is also due for a November delivery but at this stage we havent yet received confirmation from Reebok. As soon as we get this information from Reebok I will pass on the information.

3.       We have explored the idea of having a Shirt Numbering service but we came to the conclusion that this would be too expensive for the customers. We are restricted to using the Licensed A-League Shirt Numbering which has meant that the service cannot be offered at a reasonable price to the consumer.

4.       We have had a few minor issues with stock for the opening weeks of the season and this can be attributed to a number of things.

Firstly, our initial stock orders were placed over 3 months before the store opened and as you know nobody really knew how the club was going to be received.

Secondly, we were behind the 8 ball from day 1 with Reebok as they usually require orders to be taken over 6 months in Advance. This would put the order cut-off date in February and as you know the Club wasnt even formed then!

Thirdly, we are restricted in what we can sell due to A-League regulations. This is the reason why things such as scarves etc are taking longer than usual to re-stock as they have to be ordered through an Australian licensee and we are competing with 7 other clubs all bases across the ditch to get our stock sooner.

We now have a much stronger working relationship with our Suppliers and we are doing everything within our powers to ensure that we maintain a suitable range of stock for the Supporters of the Wellington Phoenix Football Club.

As you are aware a football club cannot survive without supporters and we at the WPFC Store would like to thanks all our customers from the past 6 weeks that we have been trading. Your continued support shows that Football is alive and in a very healthy state in New Zealand. We look forward to seeing all our customers again over the coming weeks as the Phoenix continue their rise to the Top of the A-League!!!

Regards,

Ian Cooper

Can I pick up on a comment made under another thread, and that's about people coming to Phoenix games wearing Arsenal, Liverpool and (ahem) QPR shirts etc?

We are a big enough club now that people should be wearing Phoenix colours.  I have no desire to wear my Chelsea shirt to a Phoenix game and all the Arseanl fans starting anti Spurs chants etc. is something we can do without.  It's just another form of cultural cringe.

Let's start a campaign to rid us of other clubs shirts at Phoenix games.  We should all be secure enough now in the knowledge that we don't have to be embarrassed about supporting a NZ team - so let's just do it.  Phoenix colours or nothing.

I agree with you, but then again, not everybody has got a Phoenix t-shirt. I have a scarf and a retro ricky t-shirt. and I'm not very fond of the replica shirts.
I think wearing yellow would be great, but I don't have anything against people wearing a general footy shirt (except for Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea...haven't seen a Man City shirt yet, sadly enough.
