Really disappointed with his form this season.

How bad can one guy play regularly without getting dropped?? (even playing for Herbert he must be pushing his luck)

He wasn't out on the field during warm ups, any one have a clue why? Cam Lindsay was doing the starters role and Boxall the subs role.

Think Siggy has been alright this season - problem stems from the lack of support in front of him since we changed formation/style. Was very poor yesterday though.

Siggie's goal scoring form has been letting him down this year. Give Boxall a start.

Well give Boxall a start any way! He's definitely good enough. Rotation time...but for Siggie or Dura? Not cos I don't think St Benjamin and St Andrew are any less sanctified, but...Boxall is good enough

Wrong. One winner and one goal to put us up 2-0, a lead that we then threw away.

Wrong. I doubt that applies to own goals!

Technically if the opposition won 1-0 on a Siggy own goal that goal would be a "winner" right ;)

''I just have to say sorry because it's not acceptable,'' Sigmund said.

''I've got a young son and my son was watching the tele. That probably hurt me the most, [for him] to say 'where's daddy gone?' I've been red carded so it's not a nice situation and I had to explain to him when I got home what happened and I'm not proud of that.''

''Obviously I'm a passionate Kiwi man... It was just pure frustration from my part and I just wanted to get the team geed up, you know. We're a team that's been proud for five years now and I just felt we just didn't perform as we should as a New Zealand team. I tried to gee the boys up but it just went wrong.''

Sort of thing that was pretty much par for the course in Siggy's Christchurch playing days when he used to get sent off three times in a season - we thought he had it under check - but obviously not...

He's been comparatively self-controlled at the Phoenix compared with what we used to see down here when he committed lots of silly fouls.

He's punched opposition players in the past during games...

I really hope this doesn't change his attitude on the pitch, because siggy has limited playing ability, but I have always admired the heart he plays with. often when the nix had given up the ghost in a match, siggy was the one doing the hard running and still going flat tac.

I have a lot of time for Siggy and hope that this gets put behind him and he continues to be a loyal servant to the Nix

I've never liked him because the execution was so brainless. I get his passion and if he could play with that passion but have the ability to vet himself then that would be fine. As it is, he is 32 and timing generally does not improve with age so he has to make a conscious decision when he plays to really keep the brain engaged. That could limit the effectiveness or passion he has previously played with. The flip side is that the timing is off, he gets more yellows/reds and he either spends time explaining to his son why he is not playing or a coach decides he has become a liability and stops picking him.

October 21 2015 and all will be revealed.

What I mean is that when watching a game, he would do stuff like dumb freekicks in stupid positions and/or red yellow cards from stupid actions that were typified by and labelled by his supporters as 'passion heart on the sleeve play'. I just got sick of it very early on in the piece. If he played with that same passion and didn't have the other stuff (dumb freekicks in stupid positions and/or red yellow cards from stupid actions) then great.

Siggy was terrible last year and that is when comparing hm to what was a very average year by a lot of players. I really do suspect that Boxall will be given more of a look in this year.

Boxall is an excellent athlete and has better footballing skills.

Siggy's reading of the game is still very good and as mentioned he makes alot of interceptions, but his legs don't carry him there fast enough anymore and he's getting caught out of position more and more.

Had a good run.
