Anyone agree? At least he shows heart and will lead by example. I think he'd make a great captain. I've played against him in the past and know he has a great presence and gives 100. He's also a Kiwi. I think we should have a Kiwi as captain personally. Things have to change, why not start with this to set things in motion.

He could well be a captain of the team in the future but I'm not sure that would have any real affect on performances...if he's on the park he can do or say just as much as anyone else in getting the side motivated.  Unfortunately I think the current problems run a little deeper than that.  Captain in a fgootball team is a pretty meaningless position.james dean2008-11-06 06:41:36

Big ups to him  for what he's shown us this season... and I hope he continues to improve, which he will... but Captain?

The only realistic alternative I would think we have is T Brown, but he's gone a bit ta-ta's lately as well... would love to see him step up against the blingers again - Fark nose someone (or four) has to!

I think unless Siggy continues to develop and grow, he's not a very wise choice. He was always a nutter when playing for Canterbury United, it was never a matter of if he got booked but when.

He seems to be better, but I don't think 'heart on ya sleeve', constitutes excellent captain material alone

Why would we be changing half way through a season anyway? Leave it as is...

Dura has only half a year of captain's experience in the A-League. So far, not so good.

If we keep Ricki, I think a new captain might be in order. As News posited on another thread, with him and Ricki we have two quiet leaders. I'd rather we have someone who can rev the boys up, and have a go at underperformers etc.
