Should we win or draw on the 17th of October against Melbourne Heart we will hold the Australian top-flight record for the most undefeated matches in a row at a single ground, surpassing Sydney United's impressive 3 year run in the late 90's.

But its a hollow record isn't it? No taking away that we have had a very good run at home, let's not forget the loss to Sydney in Palmy which was a 'home game'.

I think the Sydney United record is a single ground record too.

Not hollow. Addresses the simple and honest question - When was the last time we were beaten at Westpac (our home track).
(Or, alternatively, how many games have we gone unbeaten in our home fortress?)
No smoke, no mirrors.

No smoke, no mirrors.
I know, I know, its serious!

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is. This record refers to consecutive matches at a single ground, whereas last year we drew the record for consecutive 'home' games before we lost at RoD.

Two reasons not to move a home game to Napier...

I'd still like to see us get some points away.

We are actually closing in on the A-League home record of 14 again.

Huge game against the heart then.
We will lose again. After bossing them for most of the qame they will slip in a late equaliser and then WELL into stoppage time (like much much after the minimum time) they will win a free kick just outside the penalty area and some unmarked Jam Tard will head home the winner.
Daniel will start but will probably miss a simple walk-in/tap-in goal.
Gawd I'm depressed already.

Very interesting point, I hadn't thought of that. When will we be closing in on the record again?
Well we got 14 and we are now on 24 so I assume we need 5 more unbeaten at 'home' to break it.

Is the RoD also known as FMG Stadium?
If so, then according to the Wellington Phoenix website, we've won or drawn our last 10 home games in the A-league.
2009/10
9 Jan v Roar 3-1
15 Jan v Fury 3-0
30 Jan v Reds @ Christchurch 1-0
12 Feb v Mariners 3-0
21 Feb v Glory 1-1 (won on penalties)
7 March v Newcastle 3-1 (aet)
2010/11
13 Aug v GCU 3-3
22 Aug v Mariners 2-0
11 Sep v Sydney 2-1
24 Sep v Fury 2-1
By my reckoning, match 14 will be v Heart, and 15 will be v Victory, in a another Wed/Sat Melbourne double-header.
And as an anti-jinx, it's now been 5 away matches since our last away win (7 Feb 2010, 1-0 v GCU). We followed that with the 2-4 defeat in Sydney in the Preliminary final, and then this season's away matches v Roar (0-1), Perth (1-2), Victory (0-0), & Heart (1-2).
