yeah then we can do what the Australians have done and made a big deal about it and let our kids cry to make him feel really bad!

I might take my kids with a kiwi soft toy and when he turns his back on them call the news!!!

Assie Vulture Press 1 David "he really was innocent" Beckham 2.

Good on him. I like Beckham but The Galaxy don't do much for me. He's so down to earth.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Sydney flights get in around 2/30 each afternoon so i guess that if they are flying direct they will be on ANZ or Quantas around that time.

I'd love to give him a big "WHO ARE YA?" at the airport

Don't know about arrival but it said in the paper he'll be staying at the Copthorne hotel on Oriental Bay.

I don't care what people say about the guy I reckon Beckham is the man. To stay that grounded when you're using $100 notes as toilet paper is an achievement in itself.

Don't really think he would care, he sells out stadiums even playing for a crappy team.

And he is on his own plane, so why would he land at a commercial airport or why would he come out the normal way. There would probably be a car on the tarmat waiting for his jet to land. Be funny you guys waiting to give him a "warm" welcome and he never shows.

Wonder who will get the bigger crowds, Sydney or Wellington?

Why would you want to give him a hostile welcome?

If people want to go that will be good for the media impression (especially if they don't go over the top with any negative chants)

personally i'd rather be part of a large crowd at the airport when the Phoenix come back with 3 points from CCM after the last league round of the season

According to stuff website today the Galaxy team arrives in Welli at 12:40pm on Thurs.

He was only on his own plane arriving in Sydney cos he'd come from UK after the Euro 08 qualifier and needed to get to Sydney in time.  He also turned down the hotels offer of the $6000 a night penthouse to stay in the same rooms as his teamates.

Good on him, and I am looking forward to thsi weekend immensely - and have been for some time.

as the Galaxy team wander around and sort out their baggage pick-up and transport arrangements from the airport - a few rousing choruses of 'Ya Don't Know What You're Doing !!! would be quite appropriate

I'll be cheering on the Nix, but I don't be dishing out any abuse to Becks - he ain't Joel Griffiths. Watching England, he's sometimes the only one I feel who really cares when we lose.

Same....I just don't get it - why dish out abuse to the guy who's responsible for the biggest weekend of football in NZ history?  If anything the guy should get a standing ovation.  However, I know that as soon as the first "who are ya" starts, the sheep will follow.

Doesn't mean we can't also give him a standing ovation when he's subbed off after 55 min anyway, we don't have any beef against Becks and any chants of 'who are ya' are clearly going to be for comedic effect.  I don't think there would be more than a handful of spectators going to the Galaxy game that don't know who becks is... hence the amusement of the chant.

Will be interesting to see what chants Sydney fans give him.

Do people really think there's going to be malice behind a "who are ya?" chant?!

Just had a look on the qantas website and there is a flight arriving in Wellington at 12:40pm from sydney.  Flight number QF47.
