while we are having a laugh about laughable stuff- plenty of it today-

What is with Fox sport stopping in the middle of a football game to show inconsequential replays or shots of players for the commentators to talk about?

Football don't stop it keeps on going. Are these guys serious about having a world cup there?

I agree whole-heartedly. everytime they go back for a 5th replay of a missed shot I scream in anger. They have no bloody sense of timing at all with their replays either!

seriously boys & girls, get a grip and grow up.

I was damn annoyed that the coverage ended up being delayed, but what were sky to do?

they had no idea exactly how long the cricket was going to go for - originally it was only going to run 5 minutes over time, until it unbelievably ended up a tie.

with live open tennis, and ODI cricket, already in full swing on the other channels, they simply had no choice.

considering they had to make a decision on the fly, with a constantly changing situation, I think they made the "best" decision.

Put it on SS3 during the lunch break in the cricket which blended perfectly with the end of the football, then back to SS1 when the cricket finished there. Not hard, sky do that sort of thing all the time.

Ok guys what if it was this scenario...

The Phoenix are in a play off game, its all even at the end of the game so extra time is to be played, hold up lets just cut this coverage cause the cricket is about to start.

Would that be fair then?

I think the point being made is that from 8-8.30 on SS3 was a rugby magazine show, "Rugby: Northern Exposure".   One of, either the cricket or the nix could've been transferred to SS3 surely? Then no live sport would've been sacrificed at all.

Sky should not have, and did not, put the Phoenix over the 20/20 game. The cricket was awesome. They can't help that it ended a draw and had to go an extra half hour.

By the time they decided to delay the full coverage of the game the cricket was probably not even a draw yet. (The game was going overtime anyway). With such an important cricket game [actually 2 games - the CD/ND one too] going on they were never going to put the 'Nix on over it.

I was a bit suprised to see it not on SS3 during the break in the aussie game but once again the probably made the decision to delay it and kept it.

SS3 channel was completely free of any live sport for a good half an hour as the aussie cricket game finished at 8. There is also the option of the highlights channel At the very least an apology couldve been scrolled down the bottom of the page, that said a delayed version of the game was going to be played at the conclusion of the cricket. Instead we got NOTHING.

I have seen them do the above before,so it is possible to switch a game to a different channel.

Allegedly

So if they put it on sky3 in the "lunch break of the 50over cricket" for half an hour. what do they do if the 20/20 game had gone over that time (which it did by another 5 mins) and the 50 over game had restarted, delay the restart of the one dayer or drop the tennis (which was an awesome match) or what.I was pissed off too, having to start work early a.m i was looking forward to seeing at least most of the game, looks like I saw the best half, the first.
I might delete the 2nd half though.
More calls for a football only channel ?

Buffy are you like this in real life or do you just hide behind your computer desk thinkingyou're the man?

Anyway, where could they put the aleague on/

Their not going to cut effectively a semi final in the cricket, or the tennis or the ODI so come on bright spark where would they put it? The highlights channel? doubt it.

Get a grip.

You miss the first 10 or 15 of the cricket. Not the end of the World. Game involving team from NZ > Game between two foreign teams. (Especially a mismatch with a sh*t Pakistani team that can't field and has no spine)

Can anyone explain why the cricket went into a super over anyway? The team that lost went through to the final!!! What was the point of playing it?
