Joel Porter would be better but its a matter of if he wants to leave or not.

Rosie White seems to be scoring a few goals at the moment and shows a bit of passion

I'd sing half the Japanese Women U-17, they're handy, cute, and they scored a truckload of goals.
shame on england for kicking them out and making me lose $50!!

dont know if england is the answer, wouldnt go lower than league one though.

I wouldnt be suprised if they tried to get Alen Marcina as a squad player maybe to replace coveny as our second striker, he was class - worked the offside trap beautifully, good balance and an eye for goal.

Get up to Auckland for the Galaxy game, might find a striker pottering around in that game that would sign up.......

He is all but confirmed for the Gold Coast.

considering we gambled on smeltz who was struggling in the lower leagues of the uk, y don't we take another gamble and get a player like brent fisher or kris bright, who are also in lower leagues in europe

I say Killen :D

When is the last time he played for Celtic?

Smeltz has looked better than him in pretty much every national game I have seen though. He was born in Welly though so it could be a good fit.

Hopefully Porter but it all looks like Gold Coast for him, Killen would be good but for some reason I can't see it happening. One of those two (or both) would be excellent assets.

For some reason?
Maybe just the small difference between a league and scottish premier league. Alen Marcina?

This kid is Good!

I worked with him (and played 5 a side with him also) when I lived in the UK

Would be a great addition. Has two great feet and pace to burn! And he's only early 20's!

Ricki could do much worse than to scout this kid!

Was Alen Marcina the canadian who played for the knights?
Pleaden doesn't sound too bad. a quick player who could certainly be useful.

Where are the usual Wikipedia suggestions?

Three for me, and two for them.

Does his contract expire at the end of this season? If so he would be a great signing. But he is pretty loyal to Perth being there for many years so the question would be if he wants to come here

Got to be very careful with players in lower leagues of Europe.  We all remember Sean Devine and Dani Rodrigus.

Harnwell's still only 31, got a few more years in him yet. Unless he does a Cov's and keeps playing for another 7 or so years.

Yeah, Mercina 3 games and no goals this year for Rochester.

He may be slow but he would still be good to have in the squad, even if he was just to replace coveny

Alen Marcina is currently with the Rochester Rhinos in the USL div 1 league.

He has been traded about 4 times in the past 2 years amongst the teams in the league, and hasnt had a lot of game time, scored only a few goals.

This suggests that he looks promising but when teams have a good look at him he isnt up to the standard. He hasnt stayed at any club for an extended period for quite a while now.

He looked ok at the Knights but I think the A league is too high a standard for him, it has moved up,  and that we can do better surely. Would feel like a backward step having a look at him.

would reckon searching in the lower Italian leagues, they have some lower players that are better than a good A - League player

GCU having the striker-pairing that we were supposed to have..tut-tut

We're gonna have money to spend next season...we'll need a marquee player. Marcina would be a nice player to bring in for one of the unused import spots, and he could be a very good foil for our marquee signing.

We have a marquee player now.

Good to see people following the forum rules, just as well we don't already have a thread on transfer speculation.
