OK we all know secretly Ricki listens to us fans and eventually see's things our way  . Lets cut out the time wasting and identify why we didn't win today so it can be sorted for next week.

I'd say with the opportunities we did have, we could have at least drawn.

With the amount of pissing about the edge of the area, we could have won.

A lack of fight until the 85th minute certainly didn't help. And as I have said over and over, a lack of imagination in the final 3rd.

6,500 crowd was disapointing and I also also thought we were really quiet. However gona put this one down to a bad day at the office.  Should have been at least a draw. Bran2008-10-26 20:55:32

I thought the crowd at the Sydney game provided far more vocal support

that doesnt mean the crowd at the queensland game didnt provide vocal support and were quiet. That just means the sydney game was outstanding.

But sorry Bran,we will try harder for you next time

Nah he's big enough to take some stick for throwing a bit of a hissy. Jeez you backroom guys certainly enjoy the ol' self love thing? I mean no question the people behind the YF have done something truly wonderful but come on they don't sh*t gold bricks do they? They stand with us in the zone, they drink beer, none of them look like Brad Pitt basically they are like the rest of us. So open to a bit of stick no?

edit: the crowd sounded ace as well today from the watching the telly point of view.

I caught up with him stumbling along the road afterwards, hope he gets home okay.

Strikers flatly refused to shoot on a number of occasions.  Extremely irritating to watch.

Help me here. Is the OP an example of personification? That is giving something which isn't human, human qualities. The use of the word "us' must surely be so.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Lei Lei was having a shocker of a day on field. Thats what I mainly saw. They just had a bad day. We have the team, just sometimes the football gods do not shine upon us.

Roar just came off as the better team.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Funny how one player every week seems to absolutely polarise opinion. Sure Gao was anonymous in the first half but he got through a heap of work in the 2nd and gave us some real attacking impetus.

Now, you can argue about how successful he was overall, but it seems impossible to say, as several people have, that he had a 'shocker'. Surely?

I thought Gao was poor. Got on the ball a lot, did nothing with it other than frustrate and lose it.

We were poor accross the whole park with perhaps the exception of Siggy although Daniel brought a bit of a spark when he came on. Poor finishing from the forwards, passes going astray time and time again, long ball hoofs to no one, poor running off the ball, poor runing with the ball, the list goes on. It was a frustrating game to watch.

In the end we didn't deserve to win against what was a pretty poor Queensland side. The team needs to to really look at itself otherwise its going to get worse, the talent is there but the effort and structure dont seem to be.

I thought that we didn't have a good transition mode of passing.

we seem to have two different styles of play, conservative passing and the long ball. Conservative passing in defence then the big lob up field, and suprisingly the strikers started the conservative passing!

We have good incisive players on the ball (Gao Bertos Daniel) but not so much in terms of passing, and so when they aren't making much progress we really slowed down on attack.

Also, did anyone get annoyed with Covs passing back to Dodd when he received the ball from lochead over and over again in the second half?
