Sponsorship

Let us suppose that Phoenix were to get a 'dream' sponsorship deal who should it be?

Any suggestions?

Clever, witty, tongue-in-cheek, whatever...

I'd like to start the ball rolling but after thinking of the topic, my inspiration has all but evaporated.

I liked this which I read a while ago.

"Wellington Phoenix has secured a naming rights sponsor, twelve days after landing the franchise rights. "We were looking for a sponsor whose business aligns itself to what we are trying to achieve - and we found that with our new naming sponsor Kleenex" said the clubs owner Terry Serapisos. "We'll be wiping the floor with our opponents in August".

Soft Touch marketing consultant, April Tahi, said "the partnership is a match made in heaven". "This is a clean slate for the Phoenix, they look good on paper but the roll call of talent is second to none".

Fred de Jong, "this team's got guts, and I'm confident they'll soak up whatever's thrown at them. They've already absorbed a lot".

The team will be known as Wellington Kleenex Phoenix. "

With regards to actual sponsorship news, Ben Buckley has claimed (on TWG) that the inclusion of the New-Zealand A-League franchise had nothing to do with pressure from Hyandai as was previously claimed.

Not sure Air NZ can get on board with us as the A League has a deal with Qantas. What about NZ Tourism/Absolutely Positively Hellington?

Let's help Terry out and suggest some sponsors that would be a good fit with the club.

I think you need companies that have a presence in Wellington and also in Oz.

Could be a good opportunity for Vodafone to get back on board.

Color:
ASB Bank, Pak 'N Save, AMI Insurance and Yellow Page would be the perfect match.
Geographic:
Air NZ, Dominion Post, NZ Herald, NZ Football (unlikely), Kiwi Bank, Telecom, Radio Sport, TVNZ.
Others:
Rebel Sports, Vodafone, MacDonald, Sky Television

Pak N Save......Maybe they can give The Phoenix a deal so the food sold at The Tin will be cheap.
